Stayed here during UCL final, Tottenham v Liverpool, it was great value for money.  Just off the Gran Via, it was very central and if it hadn’t been so hot, everywhere was ina reasonable walking distance.  
The staff were very friendly, and even carried my suitcase up stairs.  They also offer cold drinks for sale.
There was air conditioning, and an en suite shower.  A tv , but no English channels.
And the place was very clean, with change of sheets and towels every day.

Great value for money

We stayed here a day ago (24th to 26th August 2018).  

Good points - very central location, close to restaurants, bars and shops.  Very short walk to the main strip with large departments stores etc.  Reception was manned 24 hours and WI-FI was free and easy to connect to.  There was also air conditioning.

Bad points: The room was very small and basic - we didn't get a room like on the main photos.  There was no fridge, safe or hair dryer.  The bathroom looked outdated (ours was green and yellow....).  At night the noise outside was loud and it kept us awake well past 4am on both nights.  Although the room had a balcony - you couldn't sit out, as it was used to house the air conditioning unit.

Its unlikely that we would stay here again.

Great central location - but noisy at night

I stayed in two rooms during a 7 day period at the Gran Via Hostel. The location is outstanding. For the price, I was right in the middle of Madrid with Plaza Del Sol a 2 minute walk away and all the main attractions of Madrid a walkable distance away (though I would advise to get the underground to go to Real Madrid’s ground.)

My first room, was a single room with a double bed. It was very small but for someone who didn’t spend a lot of time in the room it was perfect for my reasons and with a ensuite it suited my needs very well. I most note that it was very clean too. My second room, was a double bedroom for when my wife joined me a couple of days later. The room was very big and spacious and accommodated us both very well. Again an ensuite and the room was clean to a very high standard.

The staff were exceptionally helpful. They ready to help and give advice places to go and even helped with understanding the Renfe train that we were to travel on at a later point. 

I highly recommend this place to anyone who is travelling to see the sights and pay a very reasonable price.

Perfect location and reasonable rates

GOOD: Super friendly and helpful staff, perfect location like 1 minute away from Gran Vía. The room was a little smaller than I imagined, but it was exactly what I needed for a couple nights; the bed was very comfortable too. Baggage storage available.

NOT SO GOOD: You have to hand the room key to the staff whenever you leave. There's no elevator in the building, and no window view

A very convenient option right in the heart of Madrid

Very nice staff, great location, clean rooms.

Walls are quite thin, but the rooms are nicely located around the building so it wasn’t that noisy. 

There is no lift and you have to walk a few floors up the stairs to the rooms. I didn’t mind, but if you have weak knees/legs, it might be a good idea to ask for a room from the lower floors :)
