Wonderful Hostess and lovely Hospitality from the entire staff.  We had a love room with a balcony and good beds.
Not my favorite part-yet situationally very doable---the bathrooms were across a private hall. .AND we really enjoyed our room and LOVED the breakfast with fish, yogurt, many options for breads and pastries and great coffee and luscious fruits.  Just a block from the ocean..it was really recommendable.

Best breakfast on our trip

We just spent the past 6 nights at this wonderful guest house and enjoyed every minute of it.  Hostesses, Judy and Caroline, were incredible!  They paid attention to every detail, making us feel very welcome and comfortable.  There was always an evening treat of chocolate, port, amarula and water.  They gave great advice on things to do in the area and recommended great restaurants. Morning breakfasts were excellent and offered great variety each day. The house staff (Cleopatra, Gloria and Lovemore) were also lovely people who made sure our needs were also met.   Halcyon House is a beautiful home and we soon felt like we were part of the family....we experienced great times together here and learned so much more about South Africa through our discussions with Judy and Caroline.  It was a great location and only 3 minutes from  the beach.   We would definitely return and stay even longer the next time. Truly an awesome experience!!!

Best stay in South Africa!

This is a beautiful property, within easy walking distance of the beach.  We stayed in the Kingfisher Suite.  It was truly amazing.  We had a beautiful ocean view from our bed and balcony, with a full sliding glass door/window that opened onto the front balcony.  The attention to detail with furnishings, fixtures and the amenities added a nice touch.  You really have to experience it.  Truly wonderful.  The owner was a great host and the staff were pleasant and nice.  Breakfast was very good - the best this trip!  A reason to return to Plettenburg Bay is to spend a few more days at this gem!

Halycon House is situated a stones throw away from the beach where there are lifeguard s on duty and a short drive or taxi ride to Plett restaurants.
Caroline and Judy have perfected the needs of their guests even to the extent of leaving out a nightcap, providing beach towels/bag/sun umbrellas, water, it has a small swimming pool and a pool table next to the honesty bar. Also provided is a very comprehensive booklet about the area.
Breakfast was lovely.

From the moment we arrived, Caroline (the host), Gloria, Cleopatra and Lovemore were on the ball, and made our stay very pleasant.
