The place is perfect for family getaways,very spacious rooms with beautiful views and big beds,the lapa was just a Perfect ending where everyone can unwind and swim too. one think I disliked was the manger his extremely rude and not friendly to people.

This was a very disappointing stay on a recent visit to SA. I got bad vibes from the start when we arrived at the location in a suburban neighborhood where the compound was surrounded by  high walls with barbwire. The (owner?) staff seemed stunned and unprepared by the arrival of our 13-person party. The check-in process was extremely slow as they struggled to assign names to room. There was no explanation or orientation about the place/grounds/amenities, etc. They keys were old-school with comically large plastic tags attached that were impossible to fit in a pocket without removing the tag.

The rooms themselves were adequate and appeared clean, but many problems existed throughout our parties' rooms including: heat not working, leaking plumbing, one room with no curtain or blind which required the use of a blanket to cover the window, TV screens smaller than a laptop, burned out light bulbs; in one case 3/4 bulbs not working in the bathroom. Meals were of decent quality, but again the staff seemed disoriented by our party and  struggled to keep up. WiFi was ok but the host was confused about how to access it.

Some people asked if there was laundry service available, which, to be fair, was not a service offered. They tried to accommodate the request anyway, but one family in our party found that there laundry had been returned to there room WET and then the wet laundry was laid on the bed, which of course soaked the bedding! Another family's laundry was apparently taken to a laundromat and they were charged a huge amount. Honestly the lodge should have just said no laundry service available.

On our second night, the staff prepared a traditional African Braai. While the food was decent, members of our party reported seeing the man working the grill while smoking a cigarette with a very long ash hanging from his mouth directly over the grill. My nephew ordered a beer and when he received it, he quickly opened it and took a sip.  Then he realized the beer tasted flat and there was no fizz. He checked the bottle carefully and noticed it was only about 2/3 full despite him having taken only a small slip.

We asked about leaving the premises to explore and were told it was unsafe and that we should not leave the compound. I personally asked the host about the lack of heat in my room. She accompanied me to my room and tried the remote control herself, then told me, "some of the heat doesn't work. I'll have "him" (presumably the staff maintenance guy/barbecuer/cook) look at it". "He" never did! Despite being fairly cold weather with no heat available, windows were left open by the cleaning staff. In at least one case the window mechanism was broken and the window couldn't be closed all the way. The only way I could get warm after returning to my chilly room was to take a hot shower, though there was a sign in the bathroom requesting no long showers be taken. One of our party noticed the pipe in the ceiling above their shower was leaking through the ceiling. Another reported being unable to regulate the water temperature between freezing and scalding.

We needed to depart early each morning and were told the breakfast hours. When we said we needed to leave early (but still within the stated breakfast hours) we were told "it would be better if you didn't arrive all at once".

Look for other options in the Nelspruit area

The guesthouse is well located. We found the family room to be adequate. There was nothing special about the room, but it was clean and big enough for our family of 3. The shower walls are showing signs of deterioration, possibly the lack of sun and heat in the room not allowing for dampness to dry out. We had an unfortunate case of bad service the morning we left. We were told breakfast would be ready at 8am with the manager arriving at 7:30 to setup. At 08:15 we had no breakfast and the manager wasn’t at the guest house yet - no car in the driveway. He then gave us attitude on the times he said for breakfast. Very unprofessional and sadly a sour taste in our mouths when we left.

Fairly average with disappointing service...

I visit Nelspruit often and usually stay at one of the hotel chains as I do not like guesthouses. This place changed my mind. Rooms are very impressive, large ,clean and well maintained. There is safe parking, WiFi, great pool and braai area. Breakfast was served fast and is of better quality than any four star chain hotel. Staff and management was very friendly and accommodating with my changing schedule. We had a great nights sleep, will definitely return.

By far the best stay I had in Nelsprut.

Stopped over on a Tuesday night and it looked a good place to stay at and was graded a 4 star. Unfortunately I do feel that lack of attention to detail lets it down tremendously and this can only be blamed on Management. On the positive side the room I stayed in was spacious and had a good business desk with plugs nearby and wifi worked fine. Linen of a high calibre and the bed was kingsize and made for a good nights sleep. Okay the things I noticed that should have not been there and to be honest I am not a picky traveller, I spend my life travelling and take the good with the bad. 
See in photo below one small leftover toilet roll and no spare one in the room, had to ask Manager for another one. Showered and found there was no bath mat and found the tiles very slippery and dangerous. The bathroom liquid soaps  in bottles that were 3/4's empty, they should have been filled. Down lighter bulbs were broken one in the bathroom and one in the bedroom. DSTV did not work and had to be rebooted, this surely should be checked prior to guest arrival. There were 21 magazines in my room and was looking forward to a good read prior to sleeping but unfortunately all 21 of them were woman's magazines. I advised the Manager that we would be having breakfast at 7.00am, we arrived at 7.00am and the Manager was busy putting water in for the filter coffee, this is my favourite morning cup but had to forgo it that morning as it was still not ready when we left. I must say the breakfast was good. Again it could be a great place to stay but currently not worthy of 4 stars at this point in time, sad thing is they are not difficult issues to overcome.

LOVELY GUESTHOUSE COULD BE SO GOOD BUT LET DOWN BY LACK OF ATTENTION TO DETAIL

After traveling from Kruger Park we wanted somewhere to relax on route back to Johannesburg. We were in room 9 facing the car park and smoking area, which does not guarantee peace and quiet. We were not shown round on arrival and struggled to find access to the deck area. Once found it was lack luster and uninviting. The room was clean and had all the basics, pity there was only 1 chocolate when 2 guests were booked. The guesthouse was full and breakfast is served till 9am.  On Saturday at 8h30 the coffee was finished, tables not cleared or reset, table cloths dirty and service was slow.  Dirty dishes filled the serving counter. The staff was clearly not coping, patrons were getting the wrong orders. We tried again on Sunday 15 minutes later and the same scenario repeated itself.  We had the same dirty table cloth, the same lack of a set table, the same stressed staff due to a full service. For a 4 star guest house there is plenty room for improvement.
