I stayed in one of the "chalets". It was unpleasant! None of the windows open, it made me feel claustrophobic. The inside was like a sauna etc etc etc. 
No one came to say hello/goodbye when I left. 
Not a pleasant stay,  I will not be returning at any stage !

Unpleasant

My wife and I were travelling from the UK to connect with family and stayed the weekend in October. We had the main house as well as a chalet. From the get go, Cynthia and Colleen (daughter) were super helpful, with detailed directions as well as transfer recommendations from the airport. Upon arrival, a very warm welcome from Colleen and her husband, Shawn. Lovely couple, We were given the option of choosing between different chalets. Was also very helpful in directing part of our party that got lost using different satnav directions! We stayed at the main house so can only comment on that; it was generous in proportion, perfect for all the family to be with great outdoor space with lovely big pool, volleyball, swings..and enough lamps/candles when loadshedding hit (and we were advised ahead of times) I must recommend the hike provided by Shawn - great views and chats. We were even allowed a late checkout which was appreciated. This is a great place to stay for some R&R away from the hustle and bustle; lovely views of the hills directly behind, flowers, and some guinea fowl running around. Thoroughly enjoyed. Thank you xx

Family Reunion in great surroundings

Visited and still at Cynthia's, very warm hearted beautiful people that run this place. Home is where the 💓 is and there's alotta 💓 here. I have a very friendly neighbour with the most interesting story of his life. And a 🐈 that comes to give me some daily love and affection .

Lovely People

The not so good:

Meh.  Shared outside ablutions.  Leaky outside kitchen sink with cold water only.  Only face towels provided, you apparently have to pay extra for bathing towels! :(  Microwave was non-functional, not a big deal since I know how to use a gas stove.  
Paid a R100 breakage deposit.  I washed all the dishes before we left, cleaning for staff were a minimum after we left, nothing were broken, basically left it as I found it.  My deposit still has not been refunded.

The pictures presented of the rooms and accommodation may not be you are paying for!  I took some pictures but I have deleted them, SORRY!
 
What we really liked:

Thank you for lending us a volley ball without additional charge so my daughter and I could play a bit.  My daughter really enjoyed the playing area.  Candles and oil lamp provided in case of power outage, this happened and resulted in quite a romantic setting.  Really nice big enamel bath and shower.

Close to Sterkfontein Caves and Cradle of Human Kind Centre, Hartebeespoort dam, Harties Cable way and the "Harties Zoo".  Off the beaten track and quiet.  A fan and heater with extra blankets is supplied.  Great BBQ area.

Rugged, rough and extremely rustic!

We stayed over one night at Cynthia’s. Two families, 8 people. The place we shared had 3 bedrooms, kitchen, and a shared bathroom. Bathroom had a bath convertible into a shower. A clean functional set up that could do with some maintenance. Really nice fire-pit to keep you company in the evenings. Try get there before it’s dark, driving on a unknown gravel road in dark with very little directional markings could be problematic. 

Family FarmStay

Cynthias farm stay is next to my property i visit the place and the overall experience i have is the people are friendly, the main house is beautiful peaceful and quite.  The swimming pool is clean and you can enjoy it in the summer because it gets very hot in the summer.   No lack of everything in the house.
