Rooms were dirty on arrival.
Rooms were not cleaned and beds were. not made the entire duration of our stay.
Boiled eggs and cold viennas were served for breakfast.
No hot water was available for showering.
The owner is not professional, poor service overall. 

Worst B&B experience.

To be honest,  I really  think help is needed to keep the lodge in much better condition 1stly. For my 1st trip  anywhere I was really  disappointed,  I felt like I was treated like a student the way we where treated,  I mean the pool was so disappointing.  And the trouble we had to go through  when we got back from an outting  was hectic.  The own is friendly,  but I really  believe  she needs help to make it a great lodge but I'm was not happy.  It should be a backpack place rather...and she accused my future gf of stealing  her towels,  like that's a no no rule in accommodating people I think. 

My 1st trip. 

We had a group booking with a few friends for the New Year period in 2017, the experience was shocking from the beginning. We paid the deposit to secure our place well in advance, the owner Angie demanded that we pay the full amount before our arrival as she has encountered many crooks over the festive period and we could we crooks too, she went on to send threatening WhatsApp messages telling us not to play games with her when we had expressed that we will pay the balance before arrival.
She was friendly when we arrived, served us mediocre breakfast, over rooms were not cleaned and our beds were not made over the entire 4 day stay. We bathed with cold water everyday even when we asked her to switch the geyser on. The pool was dirty.Angie then sent us unpleasant messages after our departure, saying the rooms were dirty, and one of stained her carpet-I reiterate that the rooms were not serviced at all. the cherry on top was her saying one of us stole her towel, and that we helped ourselves to her alcohol.
I am yet to experience such shocking service from an individual, the host is extremely offensive in her language and conduct I would never recommend that anyone ever stay there.

Worst Experience To Date

Angy who runs the business is a dedicated person to her customers and supports in any way she can so as anyone to feel comfortable. Rooms are very clean and on the other hand you may ask from her the dinner you would like to have.

TAILOR MADE SERVICES

I travel more than 100,000 miles per year and have done so for the last 20 years. During that time I've stayed in all types of hotels, good, bad and unbearable. This was the first time I've ever stayed at a Guest Lodge. The property is lovely, the room was clean and as advertised. The owner went well out of her way to accomodate everyone staying there. Breakfast cooked to order, providing transport to some of those who needed it and she was fun to be around. Her enthusiasm and zeal for her business and country is obvious and enjoyable. I had a rental car and it was necessary for me to get from the property to the convention center. Taxi would not have been an option. It was living in your own house while on business, maybe better because someone else was cooking you breakfast and cleaning your room.

Enjoyed my stay at Renaissance

The Renaissance Guest Lodge is ran by Angie who cannot make you feel more at home than she does. Nothing is too much everything can be arranged and she's always ready to help or advise. The Lodge is obviously not a hotel but quite a huge mansion in a suburban area just north of Cape Town with eight rooms. There is an adequate sized swimming pool and jacuzzi in the garden which can be used as one pleases. Breakfast consists out of a huge buffet with everything you could wish for and if something is not there or you have a special desire, you tell Angie and she makes sure you'll have it. The rooms are cleaned every day and towels are changed every day as well.The Lodge is located some 10 minute walk from the "MyCiti" bus station Racecourse which will bring you into Cape Town centre (and the Waterfront) in about 30 - 45 minutes. Cheap, safe and accurate. Also a small mall (Paddocks) is located within walking distance of the Lodge. We enjoyed our stay very much and had a lovely time, Angie took really good care of us.
