They messed up my reservation so put me in 201 right next to the staircase. 201 has a drain fly infestation problem and i had to keep themcurtains closed because the security guard could see in. Plus the shower doesn't drain properly. Then after I kicked up a fuss they moved me to 301. Little bit better in that there were no insects but anybody outside could see directly into the bathroom window. But 206 was the worst. 206 has a cockroach problem amd when I complained the front desk told me there wasn't anything they could do while I was staying there because they would have to fumigate. 
It's been a traumatic experience. Take my advice, don't be swayed by the name or the price. There is nothing luxurious about this place.

Don't spend the night here

We stayed in an amazing Airbnb in Kiyovu for 2 nights and then wanted to stay 2 nights in Kimihurura as our Airbnb host recommended it as a cool area. We couldn't find a lot of accommodation options online for Kimihurura, although walking around the area there seemed a lot more options. 
Rubangura has a lot of potential but falls short as there seems to be a real lack of care. 
The first room they put us into was facing the street and the noise kept me up all night (plus the mosquito net was in bits a the bottom) so the next day they moved us to another room but this time the sliding door to the balcony was broken. They fixed it by the end of the day, but it shows the lack of attention to detail. The rooms and bathrooms are really spacious but look a little sad. Same thing with the pool, restaurant and bar area next to the pool - it's a great space but under utilised. 
Also with the restaurant we asked if we could get a few beers and they told us they could bring them us up for us - however we got charged a USD10 room service charge as apparently the apartments and hotel is now owned separately.
The staff were unengaging  - except the security guy who was lovely.

But the location is superb for Kimihurura (warning the dirt/dust from the streets is kind of annoying). 

I would check out other options in the neighbourhood. 

Great area - mediocre apartments 

I have stay for few nights at the apartments. Rooms was clean and sufficiently silent. I found very gentle staff who agreed on some extra effort for me to let me stay a little longer than than standard check out time.

Nice Apartments with friendly Staff

I was in this apartments before. I must have been one of their first guests, and this is always risky. Was not a wonderful experience. But they have improved. The breakfast is very good, the service is always friendly and they have a nice pool. The place has a beautiful garden and you could have your breakfast outside.

Has improved...

I stayed from December 2015 until March 2016 in a Rubangura serviced apartment. The staff, except the clearning ladies, provided literally zero service. The reception staff uses earphones all day long without being responsive in any way to guests. It was not possible to close the balcony door and although complaints were made nothing changed in 4 months. Wife access is so weak in the rooms, that it is basically useless. The Rubangura team does not care a lot about all these issues. There are better places in Kigali.
