Quinta do Monte Velho

It was a bit hard to find, but other than that it was just PERFECT. My 10 year old son and I wanted a weekend away from the city so I chose this place and we couldn't have picked a better one! The owners were very welcoming and friendly which felt great comparing to the mechanical treatment one always gets at hotels. Pets are welcome too btw :) Just keep in mind that if you stay there a car is a must. The house had a rustic and cosy feel to it and at around 5am the full moon would shine through the main bedroom window. The kitchen was small but fully functional. My son had the time of his life, made a little friend there and they loved spending time in the games room, running outside, and jumping on the trampoline. It was wonderful to take his electronics away and let him be a child and run free without worrying about him. Just watch out for the swimming pool if you have small kids. The moment we left my son was already begging me to promise we would return soon. Planning on a new visit within the next few weeks :)
