56 reviewsOn our recent trip to Poland, I had booked into 5 different accommodations in 5 different locations. Of the 5, I was most concerned about Schumann’s House based on the past reviews. It was to my somewhat surprise that all of our party were very pleased with this choice to stay in Gdansk. Our rooms were clean and beds were very comfortable. The staff were friendly and helpful. The location, in the centre of the old town was convenient to all of the resources in town. Now, my observations about concerns that others might have. There is no elevator and thus one must use the stairs to get to the rooms. We are in our late 60s and this was not a problem. One of our party had broken his leg prior to our trip and utilized a cane. He also did not have a problem. Another of our party requires knee surgery and also was pleased with the accommodation. The old town can be noisy at night. We arrived on a Saturday and partying went on until 5:00AM. This just added to the adventure in Gdansk. If you have a problem I would suggest earplugs. Overall , an excellent start to our Polish visit. ( If possible I would give Schumann’s House a 4.25.)
