Youth Hostel Malka

We stayed here one night. The staff was very friendly and willing to help with everything. Nice hot showers, clean beds and bathrooms, simple but nice breakfast. Located in a safe neighbourhood, with stores nearby. Host was superfriendly and helped us with taxi and everything, we didn't have to worry about a thing! Definitely recommend this hostel.

I spend several times in Malka and I enjoyed every time. The staff is friendly, kitchen available for cooking. Its clean and peacefull. Nice backgarden. Breakfast is included.
Open 24 hours per day. Its location is very central, so easy to go in Lima centre or to Miraflores and Barranco to go out

Nice and clean, very friendly staff, good neighbourhood

Perfect location

A little bit expensive for the place. But clean, people are nice. No lockers in the rooms (but possibility to give important stuff at the reception). Internet (the computer) wasn't working during 1 month there. 
Nice breakfast, table-tennis table, babyfoot, hammacs, kitchen.

Not that bad...but a little bit expensive

Positives:
They arranged a taxi pick-up from the airport for 20soles, which was great. 
The front entry system was very safe - you had to be buzzed in through a high locked gate. 
The lady who we think was the manager was very friendly and helpful and spoke English. The next morning she helped us hail a taxi and set a good price with the driver. 
The free breakfast was good - included lovely fresh bread rolls and (a small amount of) scrambled eggs, coffee or tea (she even had green tea). 
There was a fusball table outside and a climbing wall (which was out of action) but we didn't get to use either as we got there late at night. 

Negatives:
Our room smelled of stale cigarette smoke. 
There was a (very old) TV in our room that didn't work. 
The wifi didn't work in the room but you could use it downstairs in the lounge area.

Staff was the best thing about it

The best part is the staff , who was very friendly and helpful.
The down side is the hostel itself. The room had a very strong smell of mold - everything was old and unmaintained, thus dirty - the place could be a top tier accommodation but for now it's falling apart. A total makeover is really necessary.
