Åmøy Fjordferie

I was looking for somewhere to stay near Stavanger airport and this was a brilliant choice - 30 mins away. It would also be a really good choice if you were visiting the city too. The accommodation comprises a number of large houses and you can book a room inside each lodge or the whole lodge. This means you can share the kitchen, lounge and patio area of each lodge with others guests. After staying in so many hotels it was lovely to have a fridge etc. Each lodge maybe has approximately 4-5 bedrooms. The lodge I stayed in was right on the water and it was lovely to sit out on the terrace, watching the boats go by. It’s a very peaceful setting. The place is well signposted from the main road and was very easy to find. It’s was spotlessly clean and had everything you could want - good shower, internet, comfy beds, bottle opener. In a slight difference to a hotel, you do need to think ahead about breakfast and bring something with you for that. Parking was easy. Overall it’s a great choice when staying in this area. To boot, the owners are so friendly and helpful, I felt almost immediately at home and wish I had booked for more than one night. There is a local map showing some walking trails and I believe you can go swimming nearby. Unlike a lot of accommodation in Norway this was excellent value for money. Thoroughly recommended!
