Authentic place, experience and host. Perfect place for hiking in Norway or simply to enjoy your free time surrounded by nature. 
Hotel pulito, minimal, romantico. Un po’ spartano com’è la cultura norvegese. Siamo stati bene. Davvero super!

Don't be fooled by the inconspicuous exterior. The dinner at this gem of an inn is no less than world class and easily worth the trip alone. The menu is based on local produce and harvest of the season.

The rooms are newly refurbished and will provide you with a good night's sleep.

If you ever get to go to Norway this is a must go.  It is in the mountains  by the head of the river.  Cool in June. And you have to eat here the food is better than any where you will ever be.  It is from meat and produce from the mountain   The bread is the best in the world and the flavors of the food will stay in your memory for a life time.  I love love love this place.  

We had truly the most amazing evening here! The front desk receptionist recommended an amazing hike for us to go on, we came back to a fantastic dinner (Tobias is truly wonderful), and then settled in for a cozy glass of wine and beer by a fire. Could not have imagined a better stay.

We have just had one of the best food experiences in the most random location .
We booked this mountain lodge for two nights on a 14 day tour of the Western Fjiords and what a fabulous experience .
The lodge itself is set in a stunning location with views to die for , if you are expecting luxury then you will be disappointed , small  basic rooms , no tv but very clean. But what you do get is friendly staff who are very helpful and enthusiastic, views from most public areas that are incredible .
The real jewel in the crown is the chef Tobias , assisted by a lovely waitress whose name I didn’t get but is a wine expert .
The food that Tobias produces with amazing local produce is worthy of any top class London restaurant , it’s high end cooking at its best and not what you expect from a mountain lodge . I had one of the best vegetarian main courses I’ve ever eaten , beetroot wellington , the desert must have had 10 elements in it . This was by far the best meal that we have eaten in Norway and worth every penny .
I really wish Tobias all,the best for the future as he is clearly very talented .
The breakfast buffet was also excellent , great fresh produce , and again with amazing views .
This is a place we won’t forget in a hurry .

A place to stay to enjoy the peaceful athmosphere hiking in the beautiful mountain following of a fantastic dinner made and presented by fabulous chef Tobias.  Beautiful and tasty. A place to re-vist.  (No Wifi or TV in the rooms, but Wifi access in the lounge)

The setting of this hotel is just magnificent. There is nothing remarkable about the room, but currently Chef Tobias is preparing the dinners and this is an experience not to be missed! He is my favorite chef, hands down. Also, take advantage of the wine pairings. I wish I had taken more photos of his dishes. Just excellent, subtle flavors and cooked to perfection.

Simple, friendly accommodations and FABULOUS FOOD!

The best thing about this hotel was its’ location and the stunning views on all sides. The hotel does have multiple indoor and outdoor seating areas but aside from a good range of beer, there was not much on offer in the bar or any kind of bar snacks or food available aside from the evening meal sitting at 8pm. A bar snack with my beer would have been nice or perhaps a meat and cheese selection.
The room had an excellent view of the mountains, the bed was comfortable and there was plenty of hot water and good water pressure but a couple of decent chairs with a small table in the room would have been welcome rather than the single wooden folding chair provided.
Breakfast was adequate but nothing special, especially given the touted food credentials of the hotel and the price point. Pastries were personally passed around in a basket which given the buffet style of the meal, looked like trying to restrict the number taken rather than personal service.
The hotel seemed overpriced to us compared to other places we have stayed over the last few months.
