I'm so glad I made Managua a proper stop over. 2 nights at Managua backpacker inn and I wish I'd had 3. The staff were gfest and informative. Services (free pancake and coffee breakfast, beer available on site, computer, hammocks, pool) everything was really great. My day out in Managua was really interesting. Felt safe the whole time. Recommend the plaza de la revolution and the malecon walkway. National palace museum.
