Tariff was higher than price quoted on website for room which was not a good start. Felt room overpriced for what we received. Our room was off corridor and walls were thin and heard noise and music from adjoining room occupants who seemed to say up all nite.. Room was tired and overdue for facelift. Wasnt cleaned properly especially behind doors.  Taps hard to turn off and dripped. Felt motel was one level up from backpackers accommodation. Rooms dark  with traffic noise from outside all nite. Was convenient location to Cuba street  and cafes and nitelife and also close to ferry terminals. May suit young traveller but not seniors who need their sleep. Glad to leave in morning. Wont be back

Disappointing stay-Noisy

Very poor facility. Not good for a family stay. Location is Ok but rooms are well below average. Moulds in bathrooms and very run down rooms. Overall experience was very poor. Carpets looked worn down to its base.

Family trip

We were staying over a night as a family,
So we took the apartment with three bedrooms. Facilities are ok rooms are clean . However, the blankets smells too oily, it is like haven’t been washed for long after someone spilled the oil on it ...

This accomodation is not recommended. It is run down, dirty and poorly appointed.
It ceratinly is not value for money. I would have rather stayed at a Backpackers to be honest!!
Marks on walls, doors damaged, dirty bathroom, kitchen and toilet, filthy carpets, dirty windows.

Very poor

On first floor, lift musty, room same,.window did not close tightly. Mismatched plates in cupboard, no sharp knife, the two small cups that were their were disgusting inside of them, couldn’t get them clean so suggest managment go and buy a couple of new ones. Bathroom dark and dingy, only about an inch of hand wash sitting in bottle on basin and only 3 tiny bottles of shower liquid on back of basin. Would hardly wash one person without two adults. Hot tap was running all night as couldn’t turn off. Will NOT return. Passed lots of cheaper and nicer motels that were far cheaper than our rip off price of $150.

This place is seriously poor.  The staff are unfriendly and unhelpful, they don't think about the needs of visitors.  We came to visit for the WOW show, and thought we would stay an extra day to spend time exploring Wellington.  We had a flight to catch in the afternoon, so hoped for an early breakfast and time to spend in the museums.  We needed to leave our bags, but the reception didn't open until 9 am!  Not only that, the staff weren't there at 9 am.  There is a phone to call for assistance but no one answered.  The room itself was....  hmmm...   adequate at best, but dated an old as a last resort.  I would say it was one small step up from a backpackers.  We were unimpressed to say the least.

Unless desperate, don't stay here.

The worst rundown motel I have seen. Very unsafe place with dirty rooms, the beds are stained and the rooms are cold. The outside of motel when arriving had boarded up windows. Also has mould in the bathrooms. Would not recommend to anyone even if they needed somewhere cheap. Would give 0 stars if I could.

Unsafe and Rundown

Literally, not even figuratively, but literally the most disgusting motel in New Zealand. I don’t even know where to start. The lift/Elevator is a number of gross stains on the floor and walls. The hall has gross stains on the walls. Big stains, like a dog has relieved itself on the wall. The radiator in the room looks like someone has had a fight with it. The light on the wall was hanging out of it’s broken fitting, just waiting to electrocute anyone who investigated it.
 
There were tiny children playing unsupervised in the disgusting hallway. The bed had a disgusting stain on the mattress. The bathroom was last updated in probably 1975 by the looks of the fittings.
 
The TV was broken, there was no reception. The wifi is slower than dial-up and unsecured.
 
The sheets were made of some horrible material I struggle to describe. Sort of like something a very poor quality tent might be made of. Something worse than pure polyester.
 
The room is like a prison cell, but less clean. The room is worse than army barracks I have stayed in.
 
As I had no TV and had to use my phone data to access the internet. I decided to amuse myself by sharing the photos on my Facebook. Everyone was disgusted, with suggestions that I should go and sleep in my car instead.
 
I pondered who might find this accommodation acceptable. Possibly someone recently released from prison, but only because you got given a key to the door. Perhaps someone who had spent many years living in tent in a refugee camp, in a desert. Maybe someone who was usually a rough sleeper, or homeless. Other than that, I can’t imagine anyone would think this was anything other than a disgusting hovel.
 
That they take money for this place from people visiting wellington is unforgiveable and shouldn’t be allowed. Places like this should be against the law. I’ve complained to the City Council and asked them to investigate it as a health hazard.
 
I complained to Booking.com who kicked the can down the road and told me to take it up with the hotel. I did, they refused to refund and called me a liar. I have photos.
 
I won’t be using Booking.com again, not should you, they won’t take ownership of such hideous sub standard experiences, so you are better off going direct to the hotel in the first place.
 
I had no choice but to sleep in this cesspit or lose my money. I left as soon as I woke up, before dawn.
 
So, my review is that this must surely be the worst accommodation you have to pay for, in New Zealand. I’ve traveled the world, and I’ve never experienced squalor like this. It is, quite simply, disgusting.

Worst motel in New Zealand?

My friend booked a room here as it was close to the airport as I was arriving from Australia at midnight. Arrived to find no hot water and only one towel between the two of us. My friend was promised a $5 voucher as she had booked directly with the motel. Didn’t happen. Seemed to be more like student accomodation. Wouldn’t recommend this place.

Not what we expected

Didn't get a chance to sample the room as there was no room on arrival, despite booking and paying six months in advance. Once the male receptionist established there had indeed been a stuff up between his hotel and the online booking agency, he wiped his hands of the whole matter. i recommend that where you can, ring the hotel direct at least seven days prior to your arrival, just to make sure that your booking is still alive and well.
