Fabulous accommodation, top class in every way. Great location, huge comfortable beautifully furnished room with amazing views and everything we needed to hand. Massive luxury bed and bathroom , felt really spoilt. Such great value. A separate bathroom with huge shower , slipper bath and double basins . Easy to find and parking.

A small boutique hotel commanding a magnificent view of Lake Tekapo and the surrounding mountains.  We took room no.1 with a king size bed, opening out to a portico.  The room is done tastefully.  The caretakers, an elderly Filipino couple  Amy and Efien deserve special mention for their hospitality and Chia for going out of her way to arrange for a drop to the bus stand.  Also a big Thank You to Jojo for the gift of a bottle of wine.  You guys have been exceptional in your service.  Would highly recommend staying at Tekapo Heights, despite being a little far from the bus stand, and breakfast service stopped.



A slice of Paradise

We were lucky to secure the suite at last minute and were very impressed with the cozy soft bed. The suite was  spacious clean and lovely and warm. Great location close to town with beautiful views of the surrounding mountains.

Nice warm cozy bed

Very clean, tidy, quiet and extremely comfortable B &B in Lake Tekapo. This place has apparently is darkest place in the world(?) with 2 astronomical observatories. No street lights or outdoor lights allowed! Fantastic views of the Milky Way and the cosmos.

We had a wonderful visit at Tekapo Heights. Our room was spacious and quiet with a great view. The hosts were fun and well organized. We wanted to go hiking early on Mt. Cook and it was not problem to get breakfast to go.

Christmas at Tekapo Heights

We ended up running quite close to the check-in deadline, because the "10 minute extra" scenic route we had been sent on added nearly an hour to our travel time. We called and they told us not to rush. They were very happy and welcoming when we arrived. They do not speak much English, but used translation apps to communicate effectively. Super sweet couple. They really wanted to ensure that we were comfortable and had everything we needed. The bed was a little firm for us, but overall it was an amazing place to stay.

Absolutely lovely hosts & very comfortable B&B

The last time I stayed in Lake Tekapo, I didn't have a great experience with accommodation, as it seems there is a bit of a premium staying here as it is so small and so some of the places cost a lot and are not great value for money. However, at Tekapo Heights, this was really not the case. The place was fabulous and immaculate and the owners were lovely, knowledgeable and friendly. We were leaving early the next morning and so they made us a packed breakfast to take with us (there was rather a lot of butter in the sandwich, so maybe ask for no butter if you're not a thick spread butter fan!), but otherwise this was great of them, as it meant we could get on to our next destination nice and early. The room we had was spotless, so clean and maybe had been re-decorated/renovated recently. The bathroom was lovely and the shower was very smart. There was a nice view from the window. There was a huge comfortable bed and there was a little tray with food snacks on when we arrived, which was a lovely touch. It took less than 10 minutes to walk down to the main road, from which you can crossover and head to the shops/bars/restaurants along the lakeside or the Observatory Tour offices. Very handy location. Highly recommend.

Amazing place to stay

Clean and comfortable room. Lovely large bathroom. Only thing I would suggest if that it would be good to have real coffee rather than little tubes of instant coffee, nowadays it is so nice to have Nespresso in a room. Easy access to town and good to have parking spaces.

Clean and comfortable

We booked this accommodation believing it to be a stand alone suite with mountain views. This was slightly misleading as it is a room with an ensuite and a view of the car parking area, in a house of mass occupancy rooms. That said the room were very well appointed with microwaves, TV, tea/coffee making facilities. It was spotlessly clean tastefully decorated and the beds were very comfortable.  The ensuite shower was a novel cubicle like a space ship with lights, only the music hadn't been fitted. There was space to park your car outside on the driveway. The manager was very helpful and efficient. The internet connection was very slow but that may be due to location. It was a reasonably priced great place to stay in Tekapo away from the hustle and bustle of the town centre.
Al's Top Tips
Most restaurants are closed on Mondays and Tuesdays. There is a fish and chip caravan called Better Batter in the picnic area by the campsite that does very nice gluten free fish,chips and coleslaw. 

A very comfortable stay at this accommodation.

Beautiful property with great view of the lake mountains, sunrise and sunset. Very good hosts with Chia giving us a complimentary bottle of wine and helping us to drop us at the bus stop. There is a sit out and a lawn to walk. However the place is almost one kilometer away from the bus stop and is up the hill. For us, in our seventies, it was very difficult to drag our baggage. Also with no option for breakfast, one has to go down for any kind of food. Perhaps suitable for people with own vehicle. Highly recommended only if you have your own car.
