This small family hotel (6 rooms) is in a beautiful thatched mansion set high up on the leeward side of the dunes, looking out over the island of Walcheren (and even a bit of sea-view). The walks from the hotel to Zoutelande or Dishoek along the top of the dunes, or along the beach are beautiful. 

We stayed for two nights. The rooms were large, clean, slightly old-fashioned. Bathrooms were modern. Good showers. 

It's and old building: There are steps between rooms, one room has  steps down to a bathroom and one room has a step down within the room so be cautious!

The restaurant: perfect! Cosy with plenty of windows looking on to the dune garden, a mix of classical and contemporary decor. Friendly staff. And then the food arrived, wow. Beautiful works of art, subtle yet interesting taste combinations. Superb. 

A diamond in the dunes!

One of the better restaurants in Walcheren. Beautifully situated at the top of a dune with free parkong. Excellent kitchen and reasonably priced. Good wines. Interior somewhat old fashioned. Kind staff, bit dull though that when one of us asked for a coffee in stead of dessert, his choice for a 3-course menu was cancelled for a few euro's more. "Penny wise, pound foolish". Still, worth a visit.

Excellent kitchen. 

Whether with or without kids - t'Streefkerkse house is our favorite weekend "get-away" in the Netherlands.  Being able to sleep on the spot (right on top of a large dune overlooking the flatlands of Walcheren and a 5 min walk over the dunes to the beach) makes it even with small kids very easy. One of the best restaurants in this county - we always have to book far in advance - but the food (3/4 course menu/or a la carte) is superb.
Coming here in the past 13 years we have gone from using the baby phone in the rooms whilst enjoying dining in the restaurant to now having family dinners the four of us with our (in the meantime) teenage girls. Good service, nice owners and excellent price : value!

Superb - as always

This hotel is directly situated at the North Sea in the dunes of Zoutelande (the province of Zeeland). It is a small family hotel (5 or 7 rooms, which are all different). We booked room 5 which has a very good and large double bed and a large bathroom. Breakfast is very good as is the dinner; the latter is even excellent at a reasonable  price. It is advised to book in advance.  Staff is very helpful. Price per room per night is about 80 euro at the moment (2007). From the window you look out over the dunes.  
Zoutelande is a very small town with some very good restaurants. It is about 12 km. from Middelburg and Vlissingen. Especially Middelburg  is worth a visit. In Zoutelande you can rent a bike and go for a bicycle ride through the dunes to Vlissingen. 
The hotel is very recommendable.
