Hotel President is a home away from home. I came to stay the weekend, and left 6 weeks later! Despite the family and sociable ambiance, the majestic private rooftop garden overlooking the Lake and hillside, the immaculate rooms and affordable prices, the convenient location - the owners Alvin and Sunita are reason enough to visit. In 22 months backpacking, i have never met such genuine, compassionate and caring individuals. The rooftop jams are great too, so bring an instrument! 

No need for a lonely planet, the owners can write the Bible on Nepal for you...

Clean and affordable with the loveliest owners! They will go out of their way to make everything as easy as possible for you and look after you, they were like our "Nepalese parents". Handy to the main drag in Pokhara, with an awesome rooftop to chill out on. Thank you Sunita and Alveen!

We have shopped around lots of budget places in Pokhara and Hotel President is definitely the best we have seen in terms of cleanliness, facilities and value for money.  Our room was en suite with a tv, fan, wifi and phone to call reception. We paid 500 r a night for the room, but could have paid less if staying longer. The owners are lovely and the rooftop has great views. We didn't eat here, as the food more expensive than elsewhere.

Our favourite hotel in Nepal!

Excellent value for money, best we have found for the price

The place looked ok and was cheap but the room had a strong mold smell. In addition the staff always tried to sell us tours, bus tickets etc. but with a way higher price tag than anywhere else. This made it a bit uncomfortable. During the last night we had two huge cockroaches in our room.

Cheap but cockroaches

It was a rainy Day and we were desperately looking for a room what the owner promptly exploited by offering us overpriced and dirty rooms. Dead animals in the bathroom (lizard, insects). It has obviously not been cleaned in months. It smelled old and muddy. The aircon didnt work and as i went down to ask for help everyone were already sleeping. Finally the owner locked the hotel so we were basically imprisoned and could not even leave. Worst hostel ever. Stay away!!!!

Disgusting and Overpriced 

Do not stay here, they are liar's! It was the worst hostel/hotel experience we've had in Nepal, and we've been here for a while and slept in a lot of places. It started off with my partner looking for a place to stay and checking out a bunch of places. Here they gave him a decent price for a room with a double bed and a spare bed. When we came back to finlize the room they nearly doubled the price and only after about half an hour of them talking rudely to us we agreed on the original price as long as we stay two nights. Later they wouldn't give us toilet paper until I said that we'd leave here the next day if they wouldn't. Finally, they called our room the next day around noon and said that we have to move to a smaller room, we said we are not willing to move since we agreed with them on this room for two nights. The guy started raising his voice and said that we have to check out right that minute and leave the hostel. They are rude here, horrible service. Do yourself a favor and don't stay here.
