A highly enjoyable stay! The room was superb, the views were excellent and the staff was polite and serviceable. Breakfast was inclusive and wholesome; overall a very nice experience which I recommend.

Excellent hotel

First of all the hotel view is amazing. I could see the coast of Tangier from my room. The room was also clean and looked pretty new. Staff were extremely polite. Service was just a tad slow but otherwise would certainly come back

Amazing hotel

Staff on arrival were friendly and assured me that I will have a quiet room, which indeed I asked for when making the booking. They gave me a room on the 7th floor. However, as a 6 lane express way meanders around the hotel on two sides, I don't think any room is really quiet. Mine certainly wasn't. Tangier is busy almost 24/7. Consequently, sleep quality was very poor. Shutting the window was not an option as it was far too hot and for health reasons I do not sleep with aircon on. A bad night was had. Otherwise, the room was very large with space to dance, a kitchenette and very good bathroom with a superb shower. The breakfast buffet looked huge with a choice of European and Arab food but the quality of the food was mostly not to exciting.

Supremely noisy hotel

I stayed with Le Rio in the past and it was a good and clean apartment with friendly staff.
I contacted Le Rio a month ago for prices in July were they offered me a quote and they have not advised me that this quotes is temp or it will expire, several weeks after I came to confirm the booking unfortunately they have increased the rate very high and when I questioned them they never replied to me in fact they ignored my emails all together.
Very disappointing customer service

Not Reliable

Booked two nights in a deluxe suite but wouldn’t stay here again nor recommend it to others. The negatives far outweighed any positives.

Positives: Location, view (7th floor room), room size. 
Breakfast buffet was varied and plentiful.

Negatives: Checked into room to discover there were no towels, no toilet paper, no bathroom soap, no teaspoons. Informed housekeeping. Fifteen minutes later, loo roll and teaspoons were brought to room, however we had to wait an hour before any towels appeared (housekeeping said towels were still being cleaned and there was no soap because hotel’s order hadn’t arrived??)
Items listed for the deluxe studio on the Rio’s website were lacking...no kettle, no toaster, no bathrobes...these items were clearly shown in the room’s online images and listed in room amenities.
Worst was yet to come. 
Turned back the cover on the bed to discover a very long black hair on the ‘new and clean’ bottom sheet (thanks housekeeping!).  I then lifted the bottom sheet (no mattress protector sheet) to see a filthy stained mattress including many hairs from previous guests. Yuk! (See pics)
Floor was in a poor state with peeling ‘parquet’ vinyl. (See pics)
Unable to use the in-room safe as it had no fixings so not screwed down and could have easily been carried away.
Bare electric wires inside the closet. (See pics)
The window next to the bed was faulty and had orange spray foam insulation across the inside of the window, obviously to prevent rain/wind entering a faulty. This could clearly be seen from street level too! (See pics)
There were no fire or safety notices within the room to inform guests in the event of an emergency.
Important point: If paying by cash make sure you have correct amount or insist on getting your change immediately. Staff who handled our check-in told us they didn’t have any change (we were due 60dhs) and that we should ask for this on our check-out day. It was a different staff member when we checked out but luckily we were believed, however it made us think this could be a ruse used to gain some extra cash if guests don’t remember this when checking out.

The Rio clearly needs updating but more importantly- an overhaul in its housekeeping services and cleanliness.

Deceptive

I had an extremely unpleasant experience at the hotel apartment. The room was filthy, with a broken table glass and no remote control for the small TV. The exposed wires from the socket were a safety hazard, and the outdated design made it feel like stepping back in time. The reality was nothing like the advertised photos on their website or Booking.com. The breakfast provided at 8:30 in the morning was very poor, with a malfunctioning coffee machine. While the staff were polite, they were unable to address the issues adequately. For the price of nearly €150 per night, I expected better. Despite the spacious 170 square meter size, cleanliness was severely lacking. I strongly advise avoiding this place at all costs.

Team are not respecting the reservations 

Upon arrival, they gave me an unreserved apartment, the apartment is not clean, the rooms are badly cleaned, and the management is very bad with the customer. An official complaint was filed against the administration at the police station and shower filter is dirty

Bad management

This is the worst hotel I have ever been to. The female concierge is so cold and rude, the entire staff is dedicated to making guests feel uncomfortable. There were stains all over our sheets, and the breakfast gave my partner very bad sickness as the food is very old and expired as well as served in unclean circumstances. The hotel charged us 37 euros for a small basket of laundry, when they told us it was 15 dirham. When we tried to escalate the problem we were met with hostility and anger. This is the dirtiest hotel and worst customer service I have ever seen in my entire life. Please  please save yourself and DO NOT STAY HERE.
