I booked a reservation in this hotel weeks in advance.  I was traveling to Oaxaca for my friends wedding.  3 days prior to my stay, Posada de Xochitl cancelled my reservation.   
 It was around Dias de los Muertos and almost impossible to find a place to stay in Oaxaca last minute. 
 They overbooked.  Do not stay here.  They do not keep their word.

We stayed @ the posada for five nights ( we had booked for 6 but had to leave a day early to catch buses back to Mexico City).
Overall view; Clean. Hospitable rooms (our rooms had no windows which meant artificial lighting). Tiny bathrooms that were functional but could have been better designed. 
The roof ( smoking area) and patio common space were always clean and their roomy flow means it would take all the guests to be hanging around for it to feel crowded. 
Noisy - but that is very typical of almost anywhere in this region. 
This was an bargain imo - our Spanish speaking
Owners/hosts were as helpful as they could be and happy to share their knowledge about the surrounding area.

Oaxaca trip 2018 ( Dia de los muertos)

I am always going to Oaxaca and trying to economize, I went to Posada de Xochitl, which was 100 pesos less than the hotel I normally stay at.  The room was large and clean and a little run down.  The bathroom was small, if I had been any fatter, I would never have fit into the narrow area where the toilet seat was.

Although the room was clean, quite  and the bed comfortable I would not stay there again.  There were too many cantinas in the area for me to feel safe.  I would not recommend the hotel for females traveling alone.
