Good bed and breakfast establishment in a quiet part of Merida. Good size bedroom nice shower room. The best breakfast that I had in my  Mexico trip. Hosts helpful with places to see eat at and getting taxis. Five or so minutes taxi ride to the centre of Merida.

Good area with shops and restaurants around the hotel.  Good sized room. Helpful staff.

We had a wonderful two week stay at Ochenta y Dos, an extremely comfortable and beautiful home . Dave and Pat are amazing hosts and take care of every small detail. Highlights included Dave’s delicious breakfasts and Pat’s outstanding margaritas. Spending afternoons by the pool visiting with the pups was relaxing and enjoyable. We took advantage of a numbers of the offered tours. Dave makes the experience fun and interesting. Every restaurant suggestion was bang on. We arrived as guests and left as friends!

Full disclosure - we have known Dave for close to 50 years, and his partner Patrick for perhaps 20. So we did expect a little extra attention now that we finally made the trip from Maine. We were certainly not disappointed. The rooms are spacious, well appointed, with numerous amenities, and very comfortable king size beds. Dave's breakfasts, always punctual, were not only delicious but well appointed, differing daily. All the rooms are poolside, and there are massage facilities which a couple of us partook of. Additionally Dave is a very knowledgeable tour guide for day trips around the area.
But it wasn't just us - other guests who were staying there at the same time as us were clearly enjoying the breakfasts and facilities. We now wonder why it took us ten years to finally make our way to Dave and Patrick's Delightful BnB. Yes, we highly recommend, and yes, we hope to return.

A Week at Ochenta y Dos

Although we usually stay in hotels, Ochenta y Dos was recommended by friends in London and we loved it!
Dave and Pat open up their beautiful home and instantly make you feel like friends rather than guests.  
An Excellent homemade breakfast and a chat with Dave and Pat was the perfect way to start the day. 
Such a cool quirky vibe, semi Al fresco shower, the pool was 4 steps from our room and we loved our evening dip after dinner. It was Easy to Uber around and D&P helped with taxi service to our next destination.  Totally recommend a stay here.

Renovated hacienda with a friendly, cool, quirky vibe

A truly great place to stay in Merida. All the comforts of home and a great alternative to a large un-personable chain hote1. 4 unique rooms surrounding the pool. With comfortable beds, large modern bathroom with an open air tropical shower. The bed and  breakfast was formerly a hacienda and has been totally renovated. It is located in a very good neighborhood  with plenty of on street parking and a home cooked breakfast each morning. A great central location which a good starting point for Yucatán adventures or excellent restaurants. Dave and Patrick, American ex-pats are charming hosts and full of great suggestions on places to go see, or restaurants to eat at. They truly enjoy running this Bed and Breakfast and we wish we had stayed more than 3 nites. 4 stars !  We will be back again!

A truly great Bed and Breakfast in Merida (4 stars)

We loved this place. It is a beautiful property, tranquil atmosphere, and exceptionally accommodating hosts all at an affordable rate. Breakfasts were a gourmet feast served in courses. The onsite massage spa is both affordable and relaxing. The Mayan ruin day trip was informative and enjoyable. We give Ochenta y Dos 5 stars all around. 

Arrive as Guests, Leave as Friends

Staying with Pat and Dave was great! We were visiting Merida this summer as a birthday/honeymoon trip and they were great hosts. The breakfast each morning was the right way to get us started. They also had great recommendations for sightseeing, food and drinks. 

Their place is perfect for lounging around the pool and keeping away from the heat with the AC in the rooms or using it as your home base when discovering the city. 

They also have a masseuse that you can schedule for a massage on Saturdays which was much needed and well worth it. 

I would definitely stay again with them!

Summer Stay in Merida

This was one of my best experiences at a B&B. Patrick & Dave made me feel so comfortable and at home. They helped me arrange for tours, gave great recommendations for restaurants and things to do in Merida, and they are such great guys and hosts. The place is so cute and peaceful, the pool is wonderful, and there is soft calming music to make for a very relaxing environment. Breakfast was delicious, and the entire place is so clean. Staying here is like staying with good friends. The location is far enough away from downtown to be peaceful, and close enough to be convenient. I’m really so thankful I found Ochenta y Dos, and you will be too. And if you are an animal lover…this place is for you. I would never stay anywhere else while in Merida.

Best B&B in Town!

Dave is a bully. I am a successful doctor, but his outbursts made me feel vulnerable. Women stay away. You will not be emotionally safe at ochenta y dos. Not doubt, he will have something snarly to say about this review. That speaks more about him than anything else.
