When I got to Mazatlan Mexico I asked the other guests in Hotel El Sombrero Suites (a 3 star hotel) how much they paid for their hotel suites. Everyone else paid only $1100 CAD, the same for every type and size of suite. Expedia charged me $2300.27 Canadian. Expedia the right to take over 200% profit?
	My reservation was created on December 31, 2018. Expedia assured that the charges I paid for at that time was the lowest rate in the market for this 3 star hotel. In my BBB report Expedia said they did not over charge me. How can Expedia say that my room price was the lowest rate in the market when everyone else paid $1100? 
	I wonder how much Expedia charged the rest of the block of rooms they bought to resell in that same hotel on the same date. They will not answer this.

It's not a bad place to stay if you don't mind the maids going in your room when asked not to and rummaging through your stuff.  We specifically told the maid we didn't need service our first morning and hung the do not disturb sign on the door but she went in anyway as soon as we left and a sterling silver earring, necklace and ring came up missing. We complained about the disrespectful intrusion but the maid just told the supervisor that she didn't see the sign on the door. They didn't care that she lied about us telling her not to go in. Nosey thieving maids shouldn't be aloud but management may be in cahoots with them. Do Not Recommend.

We leave in two days from Sombrero suites, and once again have nothing but positives regarding our stay.   Rooms in top shape, cleaning every day if desired, we have every second day.....all staff  make you feel so welcome, and it really feels like our second home !!

Price is reasonable, so no complaints there, too bad there  is no elevator, as my husband is no longer  in100% shape.....but that's the Golden Years for you !!!!

I have no issue recommending this place, we have stayed  at some of the  large resorts here, and by choice we  100% prefer Sombrero.

We feel like it's home away from home and will be returning 2015.Staff are always available, friendly, helpful. Suites are clean and have all the basics for cooking meals, new and improved mattresses were appreciated.Convenience of laundry, shops and public transport and people watching on the West side. Beach across the street.
We've made many acquaintances here that we look forward to seeing again in 2015.

Our Mazatlan home.

We found this place after we decided to leave our first hotel due to the noise.  We were looking for nine days stay but they only had six.  However, once we saw the room (two bedroom, kitchen) we thought it would be OK.  Also, it was the only vacancy in the hotel (as far as we could determine) and they gave us a great rate, much much lower than the one posted in the lobby.

The room was clean.  The kitchen was adequately equipped (however we did have to purchase a flipper and a corkscrew).  The beds were comfortable and the bathroom was clean.

The towels looked a bit worse for wear but they did the trick.

The hotel faces the main street and it can be noisey during the day and through the evening.  It does not have a pool and the deal with allowing Sombrero guests to use the pool at the Solimar Inn next door has been discontinued.

We did have to get some house and garden bug killer as there were a lot of very small ants in the room.  However, a couple of sprays and they were gone.
