Pricewise its ok but its very basic, a neighbor dog bark all night, there was no hot water and the bathroom very smelly, no extra towels, no extra pillows? the floor is very sticky! for the reviews on places closer to the center of the city with much better views and better looking, it was kindda of dissapointing comparing to other better locations, we only stayed for 1 night and to have a place to sleep it kindda of ok.

it looks better on picture than what really is.

Expected a lot more

This hotel does what it says on the tin, rooms are fine but a little sparse and basic.

The location on the edge of town means no noise from town but there are a few local dogs which like to bark at various points through the night.  Being right next to the road also means you hear cars and motorbikes that pass by at all hours of the night.

We didn't use the pool but asked if it was heated, which it isn't unfortunately, since it sits in the central courtyard of the hotel it doesn't get much sun except for the middle of the day.

Walking into town takes about 5-10 mins but you get to say hello to the locals and get a feel for the place.  There is a laundry 2 mins from the hotel which is very useful for travellers and only costs $10 pesos per kilo.

Overall the hotel is fine for one night but not much more than that really.

Functional and friendly

The hotel was over rated on hotel.com. However, it was ok for 1 night and we didn't have much to complain about except there was no hot water. They fixed it and we showered. There is no restaurant at this hotel. There was no glass for a drink. We scoured all the hardware stores looking for a corkscrew to open our bottle of wine. Therefore, don't expect much, it was cheap and no complaints.

Just a visit

It's really good and clean hotel with small pool. For the price you pay you get an amazing place.The owner was really friendly. The only small minus it is location. You should walk 10 min to reach city center. But if you like to walk like I do, it's not a problem at all.

Great value!

This hotel is clean and comfortable. The staff is very friendly. And there is hot water with lots of water pressure!! BUT THERE IS NO WIFI, and also no phone at the hotel. I didn't realize how much I use wifi to scope dinner places, plan my next day, make flight/hotel reservations, etc. Let alone to keep in touch with family and friends back home. And not having a phone became a problem too, since there was no cellular coverage for me in Izamal. Replacing a broken down rental car became a big communication challenge. If this hotel had wifi and a phone, it would get 5 stars from me.
