Long review warning!!
Just back from my first stay at Tropical Village (and Maldives) with my daughter, and it won't be my last! She has been before in 2019 to Tropical Village. 
We are both fairly well-travelled and this was truly an amazing holiday which is ideal for those looking for a truly authentic experience of the Maldives at an affordable price. 
All the staff were extremely welcoming and friendly, who go out of their way to make sure you have a good time. Big shout out to Ja Bu the manager. Nothing is too much trouble for him and he genuinely wants you to have a great time. The same goes for Bob and Zidan who made our holiday so special.
The rooms are large and very clean with a king size bed and open air bathroom with shower. There is air con in the room, a mini-fridge with drinks, a kettle with tea/coffee sachets, and a hairdryer. The rooms were easily comparable to some 4 star hotels I have stayed in in other places and were cleaned everyday. 
Our meals were very tasty and we had lots of the locally sourced fish. The chef was very accommodating to requests. We asked to try a traditional Maldivian curry so chef made this for us one night and used less spice in the one for me as I don't do really spicy!
Although alcohol isn't permitted on the island, there is a floating bar approx. 15 mins away by speedboat if you fancy a tipple. This was a lovely old French ship with a great selection of alcoholic drinks that can be legally served as it's not on dry land.
The island is very natural and unspoilt by tourism, there are no souvenir shops and the two little local stores have an amazing stock of products if you run short of anything. The bikini beach is just a few minutes walk (or swim!) away but there is also a beach right outside Tropical Village where you can swim, snorkel and sunbathe in shorts and t-shirt/rash vest.
There is some house reef around the island and we saw stingrays and other fish. The excursions were truly fantastic. As a weak swimmer I felt totally confident with Bob who was able to literally guide me through the reef to ensure I saw everything that I would otherwise probably have missed. Zidan is also an expert swimmer/free diver and both were very knowledgeable about all the marine life and islands. 
We also did a sailboat trip which was very relaxing, and a magical sand bank trip where we had a very close encounter with a turtle. My daughter also went night snorkelling. We didn't particularly want to do any diving whilst here but did ask about it. Although there isn't currently a diving school on the island, there is diving available either from a nearby island, or if there's a few people who want to dive, it might even be possible to arrange this to go out from Fehendhoo itself.
If you are booking to go here, then you need to contact Tropical Village directly through their Facebook page/messenger as it won't work through booking.com etc. currently. Booking is really easy, as is the transfer. Once you confirm your flight arrival time, you just message to let them know and they will arrange the pick-up transfer from Male (approx 2 hours or less on the local speedboat). There are other options for transfer such as sea plane and private transfer but these are obviously much more expensive. We chose the option of the local speedboat that usually runs once a day apart from a Friday and Wednesday I think (you can double check that if going). We were met at arrivals and told the time the speedboat was leaving Male and then met again at the time to be taken to the boat for transfer. We also used the local speedboat transfer on our return to Male. We paid for accommodation, transfers, trips etc at the end of our holiday. This needs to be done using cash only as there's no card machine so you'd need to make sure you take enough as there's no ATM nearer than Male. 
Finally, as someone who rarely goes back to the same place twice, I am already looking at flights to go back to Tropical Village for my next holiday! The staff are so lovely, it's very authentic,  peaceful, and the pace of life is so relaxing but with the option to have all the adventures if you choose too.

Amazing holiday at Tropical Village Fehendhoo

I never seen in my life very bad hotel, food is worst,no room clean, ac was not working staff are stupid, manager is also bad person, he took with 200 maldivain rufiya for complaning about food, i will never suggest to this place.

Bad place

The hotel is really worth recommending. Guests may feel really welcomed there. Amazing restaurant with sea view, tasty and varied food with local flavours, and even rays' feeding. Fantastic staff - always smiling, kind and helpful. The manager is very flexible and pro-client oriented. The beaches are very well equipped, the rooms clean and comfortable, the whole surrounding beautiful and clean. Fehendhoo is a beautiful island for a quiet, relaxing holiday.

The best place to stay in Fehendhoo island

We really liked our stay in Tropical Village, everything was just perfect. Thanks the whole team of Tropical Village - nice room, really good food (even with gluten free intolerance), very kind and helpful people, beautiful beach for Tropical Village guests, we would love to come back. Thank you for wonderful  holiday!

Beautiful holiday

The food at the hotel is fresh and quite tasty. The staff is kind and helpful. One Bikini Beach is 5 minutes walk from Hotel, the others were located a bit further but you can ask someone from the staff to take you there by buggy for free. The beds were comfortable, rooms nice and clean. Only cons were no Wi-Fi in rooms and a bit salty hot water under the shower. The hotel is for sure worth its price. I recommend you to stay here if you visit Fehendhoo.

Stay worth its price

+ We were astonished by friendly welcoming when we arrived 
+ Rooms are quite spacious with semi-open bathroom, kept clean as well as the hotel 
   area
+ Hotel has its own beach together with loungers, there wasn't any mess lying around 
+ Fehendhoo is an absolutely astounding island, worth exploring thanks to its nature and location

- Outdoor light wasn't working 
- Unusable safe (no instruction manual)
- Monotonous meals
- Expensive dishes in restaurant, not worth the price
- Smelly and non-functional septic
- Unwilling staff 
- When going on an excursion, we weren't able to see what we were promised and 
  being charged anyway 
- Poor wifi connection

!!!Had we known there would be so many mosquitoes, we would have taken a repellent!!!

An interesting stay

They were waiting when i arrived at the island. They have lei and golf car. Nice staff. Welcoming drink. 

Little bit worn out room but still nice. Big. Terrace. Water hose at the terrace. Outdoor toilet and shower, little bit hot.  
Fridge, tea, water maker, two water jugs per day. Bath ropes. Mini bar. Safety. 
Nice restaurant.
Okey breakfast and food. Coffee and tea would be nice at the breakfast. It didnt served at the first day but then next day they asked if you like coffee or tea. Bikini beach nearby.

There were one electricy power cut.

Good place to stay 

Such a great time we spent during our 12-nights stay in Tropical Village. We had nice decorated very comfortable room with bathroom with tree and open roof (looks like very good 4 stars hotel). Well cooked dishes with lots of fish, including tuna and traditional friday barbecue. You can order lots of fresh juices and coconut itself as well. The beach is very clean with lots of sun beds and very clean. The other bikini beach (end of the island) is most beautiful picture you can imagine with reef for snorkeling nearby - you can ask staff to bring you there by electro car or take a 15-20 minutes walk through the jungle. There's also great place for snorkeling near jetty. Also we tried different excursions - morning and evening fishing was great and adventurous, trip to Fullahdoo beaches was super exciting. All in all we had great memorable stay and definitely will come back at winter. Especially want to say huge thanks to Jabu, Zihdan, Shary and Muneer for such great hospitality and care!!! Best place and staff ever

beginning with saying that the island is wonderful, the sea is the most beautiful I've ever seen. but unfortunately I have to evaluate the tropical village and my judgment can only be negative. the food is always the same and some dishes really impossible, only savory breakfast with the exception of a little corn flakes. Let's move on to the staff: the only girl (16 years old) who works in the structure is arrogant and snooty even though she has been working there for only 2 months, certainly not suitable for the public. furthermore, on the day of departure, the manager on his own initiative assured us, having the flight late in the evening, that at the port they would come to take our luggage to keep them in storage so that we could take a ride in the capital, unfortunately after an hour of waiting under the sun no one came. This is really serious for me. P.Š. the island despite its beauty is really dirty and the plastic spread on the beaches is the order of the day.

Please.....

The island of Fehendoo is REALLY FAR from Male. It costs 55 USD per person one way. The island is definitely not worth the ordeal. It looks like Mogadishu, with semi-finished concrete ghettos. It has ONLY TWO shops and ONE cafe which has local boys loitering around and no real customers.

So if you go there you are at the mercy of Tropical Village for all your meals. The buffet at the resort is VERY austere. On most days it has potato curry or chicken curry. If you miss the buffet there is NOTHING on the A la carte menu except tuna/chicken sandwich. On this one rare occasion they agreed to the vegetable fried rice it was quite nice. But all dishes are pricey. They know you have nowhere else to go. The 15 USD buffet isn't worth 5 bucks. So don't go by the cheap room prices.

The beach is lame at best. Sandy bottom, with no living entity in the water for miles. Snorkelling on that beach was the most uninteresting I have seen in Asia thus far. The lousiest beaches in Thailand have more interesting things.

PROS:
The rooms are large and comfortable, with nice lighting. Huge bathrooms too.

CONS:
The island is eery! It looks like a slum. There is NOTHING worth doing there. The beach is lousy.
The food at the resort is extremely limited and not worth the price.
No wifi in rooms. Only in the lobby.
