Melia Luxembourg

Modern, clean and spacious hotel a few minutes from the centre of Luxembourg - perfect for a weekend away. We stayed here for a couple of nights as part of our visit to Luxembourg. Check in experience was friendly and polite, although for some reason online checkin didn’t seem to find our reservation. Room was spacious, with comfortable albeit firm bed, and high quality Rituals toiletries in the bathroom. Extremely quiet (we didn’t hear anyone at all during our stay) and black out curtains worked a treat! Perhaps a few USB sockets in the room would be a useful addition, and the pillows weren’t to our liking, but very trivial comments for what was otherwise a very comfortable hotel. Breakfast was great, staff friendly and good humoured. Plenty of breads, pastries, cake, cookies, fruits, yoghurts, cold meats, cheeses and hot breakfast too. Coffee machine made lovely coffee, could maybe do with another I’d those too as was quite popular! Complimentary high speed wifi throughout the hotel. Bring an HDMI cable to connect a device to the TV if you want to stream content - the TVs are quite basic but perfectly acceptable. Location just a few minutes walk from Philharmonie tram stop, then it’s a quick ~10 mins to Hamilius to be in the centre of town. Similarly, the same tram runs directly to the airport, so perfect for a weekend getaway. There is some renovation taking place currently resulting in the lift not stopping on the 2nd floor, which did mean a flight of stairs to climb. We weren’t disturbed at all from a renovation works perspective though.
