Great hotel in the heart of Vianden run by great people with fantastic kindness. We were very satisfied there. Great breakfast and even if we had to wear face mask we could use bufet style and it was very appreciated. Parking front of hotel for 8€/3 days was also great.

There are no stairs because its old buiding under castle so people with less mobility need to count with it.
Also sound isolation of the rooms can be more improved. We heard all neighbors and also everything from corridor.
Mostly in the shower wall was very thin.
We missed also fresh water on breakfast :-) Rest was fantastic.
Also fridge was missing very much

Weekend in Lucembourg

Stayed here with my 14yr old son on a recent motorcycle trip.

Nice clean, comfortable rooms with a great breakfast. Garage provided for our motorcycle. 

Fantastic and attentive hosts.
 
We arrived a little later in the day but Julien ensured that there was a key left for us in a safe place with full instructions via whatsap.

Nothing was too much trouble.

Motorcycle travellers

Julien and his daughter welcomed us warmly and went out of their way to make us comfortable. Our room was very clean and as we were arriving on a cold damp day the room had, thoughtfully, been pre-heated so that it was lovely and warm when we arrived.  
The room was spacious with a sitting area off to one side and in the ensuite the toilet was separated from the bathroom area by a door for privacy. We hesitated about breakfast as it was an extra but decided to go with it and we were definitely not disappointed. It is the best breakfast buffet we have had in our ten days of travel in Europe - the home made yoghourt and smoothies were a standout. Both of our hosts were delightful and we have every intention of staying here again when we next visit Luxembourg. We are not in the habit of writing reviews but this auberge proves to be the exception to the rule.

This is definitely a unique B&B/Inn, owned and managed by only two people who have a real passion for the place. Their passion has duly showed, shining through and blossoming into a truly amazing place to stay. Please, reread that - it's a truly amazing place to stay.

They have a mix of modern and old-y rooms, for different tastes. I stayed in a more modern room and was astounded by the hard work that's been put into this place. Wow.

It's difficult to find a hotel that's not a chain/known company, and that's actually good. I know from experience, that, not all independently owned B&B's are 'good'... But this takes "amazing" to a whole new level and raises anyone's expectations of hotels!

I took the 570 bus (I think?) from Diekirch to Vianden, and the train got me from Luxembourg City to Diekirch. The journey didn't take ages, as it isn't a huge country. The B&B is located between the middle of Vianden and Vianden Castle (hence the name of the B&B being "Chateau"... High-School French told me that some words *were* important in later life!)

I took a walk to Vianden Castle and even a walk up the hill, if you follow the road situated outside the B&B. Additionally, I walked over the border to Germany, which produced STUNNING views or the castle. Vianden isn't a massive place, though I would've explored the Chairlift if given more time. Also, maybe I would've had more of a walk around the hills, and explored the other side of the river too.

I did not try breakfast, though for €10, I would on my next visit. The owners go out and buy fresh ingredients for breakfast the night or two before, so they clearly take care and consideration into the actual breakfast itself.

They prefer a Bank Transfer as method of payment - and if you have any questions, give this place a call. The owner, Julien (who speaks Luxembourgish, German, French, English and Dutch - which I can only aspire to do in my lifetime!) had a lovely chat with me before travelling and actually helped me look forward to my journey even more.

For the price you pay, this is the best (THE BEST) in Vianden. And likely, the whole of Luxembourg. I don't need to try other hotels to assess them - you just feel it.

An excellent Auberge with very attentive hosts.  The room was spotless with a new bathroom.  The breakfast was extremely good. The only minor criticism is the threadbare towels provided but by no means a deal breaker!  Payment is either by cash or bank transfer.  

Excellent friendly accommodation 

I echo the accolades of other guests when I say that our two nights in this inn was one of the best experiences of our trip.  Julien and Maaike, with their boundless energy, were exceptionally attentive to our needs.  Upon arrival, he assisted us in getting a parking ticket, gave us our choice of rooms, and made dinner reservations for us for both evenings.  Julien speaks five languages fluently, switching among them seamlessly.  Our room was clean and comfortable, and the breakfast was exceptional.  One morning Maaike asked us if we would like fried eggs, and the warm croissants, homemade breads, and homemade yogurt were special treats.  Nowhere else have we been encouraged to make sandwiches to take with us for our lunch.  We enjoyed our picnics both days!  We are very appreciative of the special attention and wish them every success with their business.
