Even though is "only" a hostel, we found the owner more welcoming and helpful (with luggage storage, taxis, suggestions, etc) than at many hotels and bed & breakfasts. We stayed in a private room with a family bunk bed and had a good night's sleep although the owner had been afraid we might be roused by noisy latecomers. Great central location, too - not just for the train station, but also for a walk through the Maskavas Forštate to see the Academy of Sciences, ghetto museum etc.
