We loved this guesthouse! The pricier bungalows on the river were fantastic and still very affordable at 120,000k 

Very clean, the restaurant makes the BEST coffee, and the staff is so kind. Would definitely stay again!

Excellent value and lovely staff

During our stay on Don Khon,it seemed to be difficult to find a good restaurant for dinner despite all of the empty restaurants around. Until we came across this one, that looked inviting. The owner cooked us our meals from fresh and it was amazing!! Great price and good size portions. The owner is very friendly and helpful. The place is so good that we kept coming back.

Somphamit coffee & restaurant

An okay bungalow with a great view of the Mekong. The guesthouse provides you with a lot of relaxation but the inside is very basic. The WiFi is okay, fan and bug net are provided and shower is very hot. We had a big storm while staying there and the roof began to leak. That being said, the owner and a staff member came to pick us up as we were stuck on Don Det, free of charge, which was really kind.

Decent

I chose this place considering visitor's comments. Here are mine:

+ 3 out of 5 are just on Mekong 
+ the young owner (?) is very kind
+ good choice of breakfast, excellent cappuccino
+ food tasty
+ attractive price ( reservation platform)
+ money exchange service ( no ATM nearby)

 - small room with private toilets
- cleanliness to be seriously improved
- no privacy , can hear neighbours snoring or other activities
- poor bicycles

Actually we thought about moving to another place,  but we got used to the room and didn't visit other rooms and stayed more than 4 nights

Below average

We spent two nights here and paid 60000kip per night. We found that prices quoted online were far higher online than if we just walked in.
For that price the guesthouse was very reasonable; I've stayed in cleaner rooms but there wasn't anything to be concerned about.
The room comes with a fan (other rooms have air con) , a mosquito net, warm shower, and its own hammock. The views from the little balcony were also fantastic.
We did have one night which was difficult to sleep due to a screaming rooster and a cricket which appeared to be in competition, although this is common all over the islands.
All in all a decent backpacker stay and would revisit again should i come back to don khon.

Reasonable for the price

We dropped in at Somphamit after arriving from Pakse. Unfortunately, the guesthouse of our choice was fully booked, so we decided to go with Somphamit, because the riverside bungalow seemed very nice. The views are definitely nice, but the first night we were there it was too cold to sit outside anyway. The room is nice, but the walls turned out to be paper thin, we could hear every word our neighbours were speaking. The bathroom was ok, but the water pressure was a bit low. During our 3 night stay, nobody checked our room, so the staff didn't notice we were running out of toilet paper. Seeing that the staff was often unavailable, especially in the evening, we couldn't even ask for extra. All this is hardly the end of the world, but for 150.000 kip I expect a bit more quality and service.
