Great place to be. We spent one week there and everything was amazing from the sea, food to activities. I'm planning to be back soon or later. For activities I completely relied on Derick Frigorifero (+254 740 140784 you can contact him directly via WhatsApp).

Amazing holiday

I am during my stay in Jumbo Resort currently. I am spending 7 nights here with the family. Today will be my last night.
Jumbo is a big resort, with plenty of rooms and two pools. One of the pools is not crowded which is nice as you can even enjoy it on your own, but it’s further from the beach and other facilities. The other one is usually crowded as it’s right next to the beach.
There is a huge choice of food during the meals. The quality is medium - there are very good and very poor foods as well. The worst thing are the drinks- if you ask for the juice you get something super sweet from a 5l bottle that is not even a resemble of the juice. It’s like a murder to serve something like this in a place full of exotic fruits…. Also all drinks are served in small cups. There is 30 something c degrees here everyday and believe me that you will feel thirsty very often. When they give you such a small cup of juice/beer/water it’s like you can drink it right away. As I speak about the drinks. It is ridiculous that you have to pay for the bottled water to take it to the beach with you… like wtf? The 200ml cup they give for free is nothing and if you want to pay on the beach you would have to get up every 15mins to go to the bar for the cup of water. Another thing- I was leaving this morning for a whole day trip (back to the hotel at 5pm). I asked for a bottle of water at the reception telling them I am going to be away the whole day- they told me to go to the bar to buy the water because they won’t give me a bottle. Worth mentioning I am a pregnant woman and that in the offer when I was buying the trip they said that water and soft drinks are included in my offer…. This is a joke.
The restaurant has a separate menu so that you can order some extras but… they will serve it only the next day. This is also ridiculous as sometimes I’m not hungry during the all inclusive meals and I would like to order something and pay but this is not possible. You stay hungry until the time of next meal. 
The lunch boxes you order when you go for a safari or a whole day trip are very poor. Last day we had a sandwich with ham only or ham and cheese. I mean they could do much better as really the choice of food during the breakfast is huge, not only bread, ham and cheese. I do not understand why the sandwiches are so bad.
In general nie hotel is adapted purely to the Italians. The menu, the music, the animation program etc. Also the hotel crew tends to know Italian language but their English is sometimes very poor.
Rooms are roomy and tidy with the AC working well.
The view from the beach is amazing, there are also plenty of palm trees on the beach making it look very exotic. Usually there is no problem to find a free sunbed as there is plenty of them. The problem is that they close the beach like around 6pm or something (pools as well) so if you would like to enjoy your drink in the evening it’s not really possible as there are no mattresses anymore and they say it’s not too safe to go to the beach in the evening.
The beach bar is purely equipped or maybe it only was like this during my stay.

January stay with the family

Nice place to rest with friends, outsome tides and animals, good food, kindly people around especially guide on the beach named Onesmus who provides with local knowledge and trips wherever you want - safari, towns, shops, Hell’ Kitchen etc. :)

We spend there great time among friends, sweet African fruits, sun and water. You can even take a kite ride at the beach

The three of us vacationed from 03/11/23 to 11/11/23. We were planning a trip to Egypt, but accidentally found out about the Jumbo Watamu hotel in Kenya. We were pleased with the choice of this tour and hotel. At first we were worried that our holiday might be ruined as it was raining every day in the forecast. It turned out that they were there almost every day, but after half an hour or an hour he disappeared and it was as if he had not been there at all. The hotel area is very beautiful, everything is blooming and fragrant. The beach is small, well-groomed and fenced. The rooms are spacious and clean, cleaning every day. All the staff are friendly and smiling. The food is varied and tasty. On the last day, the ocean pleased us with a high temperature of about 36 degrees, as if we were in a warm bath. The holiday was a success, I would like to return to Kenya again.

Jumbo Watamu exceeded our expectations. 
From genuinely friendly staff,to really fresh food(they even had a pasta station!) And stunning views I would highly recommend it for your next trip to Watamu.

A little slice of heaven.

Rooms outdated and lacking basics like TV. Wi-Fi virtually useless. Mediocre talian food for all meals. Snacks at bars limited to fruits and nuts; bottled water not included in all-inclusive package. Bathroom looks like from a Mexican prison. Inadequate air conditioning for the warm climate. Loud music played by beach staff disrupted relaxation.

A Two- or Three-Star Experience Masquerading as Four-Star Luxury

the staff including the chef were super friendly the entire stay.The food was amazin got to try a lot of italian cuisine .The rooms was perfect and  I had an amzing  view of the ocean.I was the only local a the hotel and id really wish more kenyan locals visit the hotel ,i promise you will love the stau

best birthday vacation

I travelled with my family including my 1 yr old baby. We were treated so well by the General managers (lovely Italian couple) & staff members. They even made the baby food for breakfast, lunch and dinner! I was impressed! The resort ensured that we were engaged with activities that we could choose from all day long! 
Most guests are Italian and French but this did not stop us from having a good time
Special appreciation to the female chef who made sure she got our baby's food right!

Perfect resort for a family even with young babies

Outstanding experience. A holiday made as if we were at home. Amazing, professional and very friendly staff, all thanks to two fantastic, friendly and very helpful managers. With them all resorts would be on top. Spaghetti with seafood not to be missed!
