Villa Mela was a nice place for me and my family.

One big pool and another one for kids,very clean and well maintained.

We really enjoyed the ambience in the place and sumptuous meals from a well trained cook Mr Ngala.

Service from Steve and Wilma was exceptional. Well done guys.

We will definitely come back again.

Malindi Paradise

I was a guest with my sons. We were robbed of our laptops and jewelry on our second night. 

The owner was very unhelpful and told us it was our fault. We spent the rest of the stay shuttling between Malindi police and the scene of the crime.

My worst weekend trip ever

Before arriving at the property, I was contacted directly by the owner asking for some kind of payment before arriving (in more than 20 years of travelling this was a first for me). I replied that I would be happy to give him a deposit, and he told me that I could do that on the day. When we arrived, the staff promptly asked us for the promised deposit, stating we could pay in full up front (we did not and settled the bill the day we left).  When we asked if we could have lunch, the staff appeared very impositioned, and when they said it would take an hour and half to grill two chicken breasts and steam some vegetables, that is exactly what happened. We were not given any orientation to the property or how anything worked. When we returned that evening after some sightseeing, we were hoping to have dinner at the property. However, the staff had all left, and other guests had to tell us that dinner has to be requested earlier in the day or the staff goes home. Thus, we had to go back out and find a place to eat.  The hotel is also not located near any of the sights except for a small beach 5 minutes away. We had to take tuk-tuks everywhere.

Nice place, but the experience did not match the way it presented itself

This is the perfect place to relax as well as be close to the beach and a short tuk tuk ride to the town. Staff are lovely, breakfast delicious and the decor is gorgeous. We returned here on our final night because we liked it so much.

I have stayed here for one week and I must say everything was just perfect. The house is beautifully furnished and there is a lovely garden with a swimming pool. The closest beach is only five mintes walk. Everyone was extremely kind and helpful, I was well looked after throughout my stay. It felt like home. The breakfast and evening meal was delicious and the portions were generous. The owner Mr. Gianni surprised me with a complimentary dinner at the end of my stay which was a very kind gesture and I'd like to thank him for that and also thank for everyone to make my stay enjoyable. I would definitely choose to stay here again.

Little paradise

Beautiful garden and pool, very comfortable and clean rooms, nice breakfast and very good coffee, Gianni and Steven are wonderful! We felt very much at home during our stay. We went on a two day safari during our stay in Malindi and we could leave leave all our stuff in the house and did not have to pay for that night. Hope to come back here soon!

perfect stay close to the beach

Stayed here many times. Standard very high on all occasions. Staff are a delight as is the hotel. Not overcrowded. Top class rooms and very clean and wonderful garden and pool. Very close to the beautiful Malindi beach, a 5 minute walk away.
