I am having a trip to Tohoku, last night I was in Kameya Hotel, it was a wonderful! evrything is perfect, especially I enjoyed dinner it was so delicious. I will come here again, and recomend to my friends. Thank you very much!

Trip to Tohoku

I booked Rakan Hotel on JR tour website. The room we stayed was facing Orange Beach. Great view. We were allowed to use one of outside baths by ourselves at night. It was relaxing, although we could not see much from the bath because outside was dark already. Good food and good service for the reasonable price.

Reasonable. Close to beach and train station.

It’s a really really old Japanese-style hotel.   We thought it was a small hotel but it wasn't.  The location is near the station.   We didn't  take onsen there so we had no comment. 
 
We booked the room with ocean view so we could see the sunrise.   The room was big and tidy.   Maybe the decoration was outdated, it gave us the impression that things were not clean.   We did have a wonderful stay.
  
The staff were very helpful.   They tried everything to explain us in English and even use body language.   

Old Japanese-style hotel.  Great view!  

Three out of five is better than “average” right? I cannot say this is a very good hotel, but it is good. Super convenient and close to the station. Walk up the sea avenue a couple of blocks and there’s fabulous shio-ramen. Good sea view, decent onsen, decent service. Looks worn out, aged, especially corridors. Clean and comfortable. Nothing special, but nothing bad. And there is a nice store with local products on the ground floor.

Location is great - right across from the beach and great views. 5 minute walk from the station and close to town with restaurants / izakayas. Overall, good price / good service / good food. Note that the establishment feels a bit run down but if you're looking for a budget hotel close to the beach / town, then this is it.

Ocean View / Affordable

Picked the roykan because of the location, close to the seaside yet within walking distance to the rail station. Not sure if because I am a solo traveller so got assigned with a really lousy room. The air conditioning did not seem to be working and with the car noise from the main road, I did not get a good night's sleep. The public bath is indoor and nothing fancy. They offer private on-sen on the roof top on a fee-charging arrangement. I booked a package through an on-line travel agent, which came with a free session of the roof-top on-sen. It was the first time I found an on-sen with the design and set-up just like a modern bath tub - with the tap and a plastic red tub. And this is a far cry from a typical Japanese on-sen.   The view is good though. Not sure I would like to recommend this to anyone as hooked on on-sen as I am.
