Let's be honest here. If it's 44 degree Celicius outside with 85% humidity all you want when you get back to your hotel is a functioning AC. And although the description guarantees an AC it fails to mention that it is at additional cost. 
Not only do you have to literally throw coins into the AC machine to make it work but you also have to do that every three hours!!
Which means you need to do this during the night as well otherwise you will wake up drenched in sweat and super grumpy. The rooms are unbearble to be in when you get back from a long day. 
To be fair the family is very nice. 
But it's your vacation. Just don't do it.

Stayed here as part of a month long trip of the yaeyama islands in June,  a really fabulous guesthouse with fantastic service & clean rooms & all the amenities you could ask for.

A small set up with (as far as I could tell) only about three or four rooms & a communal kitchen & bathroom on the same floor & As we stayed here in the low season we pretty much had the place to our selves, their is also a seating area down stairs which we found was very social. Very good value.  Cocochan's is very continently located only 10 mins walk out of the center of ishigaki, & if that's two much for you the bus stop at hotel Nikko is only a 2min walk (max).  If public transport & walking is not your thing then they have free bicycle hire & very cheap moped & car hire (significantly cheaper than the local hire places).

The manager was very friendly & helped us rearrange a stay on another island when a tropical typhoon was due to hit us, & he also gave us a thorough introduction to awamori! 

Free wifi & pc to use it on was a great plus! ¥100 washing, & ¥100 for three hours of air con was very reasonable, however a fan would have been great!  Highly recommended for anyone traveling ishigaki-jima on a budget!
