Every thing is perfect,  the only thing I have to say is that at the app I reserved a room with private bathroom and there was not a private bathroom  there.

Wonderful place to stay. Loved the hot bath and traditional Japanese Inn experience!

We enjoyed our two night stay at this traditional minshuku, which was spotlessly clean and efficiently run by the family who live there. We stayed in for dinner on the first night and it was very good indeed, as were each of the breakfasts. There is a lot to see in Takayama and the Iwatakan is in a good central location for walking the sights.
Good points:
+ Friendly hosts (non English speaking though)
+ Very clean and well maintained
+ Traditional character of the accommodation (futons on tatami mats) and food
+ Central location
Not so good points:
- Our room was smaller than we had hoped for

I stayed here during a tour through Japan.  This is a Japanese-style Inn.  The rooms are spacious.  There is A/C in the rooms (if needed).  Shared bathrooms were very clean.  We had breakfast included and the quality and presentation was very good.

We stayed here as part of a group and we were really happy with the whole experience. Shoes off at the door, then up to our room which was very clean, matress on mats on the floor as expected, but very comfortable with both air conditioning for those who were too warm, and extra blankets for those who were too cold. There was a TV as well but we didn't use it.

The owners provide a fantastic service picking people up from the train station, they also took us up to visit Hida Folk Village which is near by. 

Dinner and breakfast were also provided, and was similar to the photos other reviewers have submitted. They are more traditional meals, lots of bits of food, prepared very well. I found the meals more than plentyful and struggled to eat all the breakfast provided. 

One of the key elements was the use of the Onsen. For those who haven't used one you are expected to shower and clean yourself before getting into a nicely warm large bath/spa, which was really really welcome at the end of a long day of walking. Usually people go in in groups, being conservative westerners we gave ourselves time slots so when we used the onsen (must be naked) we were alone. 

Overall a great experience I would recommend to others.

Very nice traditional inn. The owners are friendly people. We had a traditional dinner and breakfast here, and both were very good. They have an onsen, though it is not a natural one. All bathroom facilities are shared, but it was all clean. In this inn you sleep on a futon mattress on the floor, which wasn’t as uncomfortable as I expected it to be. Also unexpected (but very welcome) were the wifi and the air-conditioning in the room. There is also free coffee and tea available. The owner picked us up at the train station with the hotel bus, and he also brought us back to the station after check out. The inn owns a couple of bikes that you can borrow for free to explore the town. The old town is at walking distance.

Friendly owners, clean and the natural spring bath was the best! After a long day of walking around it was the perfect thing. Room was spacious and comfortable, staff even made sure to turn the heat on before I got back.

Really beautiful place near all you want to see in Takayama. The traditional bath are a bit intimidating but really feel good.The host don't speak english but makes great effort to understand you and be understand.
