Very kind staff speaking english with pick-up and drop-off at the train station ! Good breakfast and quiet room ! Location isn't too bad, close to the lake, a little walk until a convenience store but the staff is ready to help you out !

You must stay here!! The couple who own it don’t speak much English but their son does. We never met him but got by with them pointing at signs. The rooms were large and traditional with a futon. Gets used to sleeping on it but a great experience. Baths were amazing after a long day of a lot of walking. Great way to relax. They offer a traditional breakfast which is good to try one morning but make sure you hook before you arrive as they may not be able to accommodate otherwise. This was probably one of my favourite places to stay in japan as it was so traditional. Also they can pick you up from the station if you ask tourist information at the train station to call them. Just pre warn them of a time when you arrive.

Ryokan pintoresco pero desgraciadamente la experiencia fue terrible. 
Cuando llegamos por la noche a la habitación (después de regresar de cenar), empezamos a ver pequeños bichitos caminando por el tatami. Al acercarnos para verlos de cerca, vimos que se trataban de CHINCHES!! Estaban por el suelo y las paredes. Y se filtraban y salían de las uniones del tatami. 
Como ya era muy tarde (23 horas), pedimos que nos cambiaran de habitación, pero a la noche siguiente teníamos claro que en ese ryokan no dormiríamos una noche más. 
Al cambiarnos a la nueva habitación comprobamos que también habían chinches. Así que suponemos que todo el ryokan está infestado de chinches, y que los nidos están debajo de los tatamis.

El dueño NO se sorprendió cuando vio las chinches. Y tampoco se sorprendió ni le importo que a la mañana siguiente muy temprano nos fuéramos para otro alojamiento, de hecho, se negó a devolvernos el dinero de la segunda noche y tuvimos que llamar a booking (quienes solucionaron parte del problema). 
El dueño además de grosero, no le importó todos los inconvenientes que tuvimos y tampoco nos pidió disculpas. 
JAMÁS volveríamos a quedarnos ahí y NO LO RECOMENDAMOS. 

Y además, el dueño apenas habla inglés. 

Cute ryokan but unfortunately the experience  was terrible 
When we arrive at night at the room we started to see little insect going around the tatami. Once we got closer we realized they were bedbugs!!!!! They were on the the floor and on the walls as well. They were coming in and out of the tatami overlap.
As it was already too late (23h) we requested to change rooms, but we knew for sure we were not going to spend one more night at this ryokan.
When the owner changed us to the new room we also noticed and realised there were bedbugs on that room as well. So we are assuming that ryokan is infected and they bedbugs are underneath the tatami.
The owner was NOT surprised when he saw the bedbugs and he did not care nor he was in shock when the next day in the morning we were ready to leave that place and go somewhere else, in fact he did not wanted to give us the money for the second night we had booked in that hotel, so we had to call booking who partially resolved the situation.
The owner was not only rude but he couldn't care less about what happened and he didn't even apologized for the situation.

We would never stay at this place again and we highly NOT recommend this place for anyone. 

The owner does not speak english at all.



 LLENO DE CHINCHES!!! FULL OF BEDBUGS

Check in strictly not before 3 pm check out 10 am. Between 10 am and 3 pm owners switch on an answering machine there is no way to phone the hotel during this time. In our case they started answering the phone at 3:20 pm. If you arrive early you need to store your luggage at the station.(luggage storage opposite station, 500 Yen per piece).
The hotel is too far to walk, a taxi will set you back some 1500 Yen.
I recommend you go to the tourist information center at the station – not before 3 pm. Very helpful English speaking ladies will try to call the hotel. Be patient. It might take a long time before they send a shuttle to pick you up.  No food, no breakfast, no restaurant, no shops nearby ! I suggest you buy some food near the station before you go (there is a LAWSON supermarket nearby).
Location: If you want to make it to the hotel on your own:  Take the green line bus from platform 1.
Get off at bus stop 54 “Fuji Omuro Sengen-jinja shrine”. Anyone knows this shrine. The shrine has a lake entrance, with an uphill path.  To the left of the shrine entrance is a road going slightly uphill. On this corner you will see two signposts. A 1 x 3 meter lit sign with an arrow and a 1 x 1 meter blue sign with an arrow pointing to the hotel, all in Japanese ! From signpost just 60 meters to hotel.

Large traditional room with lake view. Sleep confortable on mattress on tatami floor. The onsen is wonderful. Elderly owners speak very little English, written instructions in English available. Good WiFi.
Our visit was in November. High Season might be different.

Don't miss walking over to the shrine complex. (walking uphill next door). Especially at sunset, with hundreds of black crows flying above.

Great Experience.   BUT PLEASE READ THIS BEFORE YOU BOOK !

My wife, two teenager kids and I stayed here for Three days in July 2016. We were picked up at the station in Kowaguchiko by the son of the owners, and they always offered to drive us to the station when needed. We all stayed together in one, big, traditional room. Very clean and Nice, and we were offered yukattas, slippers etc. The ryokan even has a small onsen in the basement. Very quiet and peaceful Place. The staff didn't speak a Word English, but that only added to the unique experience. They used an iPad to translate, if neccessary! The breakfast we had every morning was just fantastic. Highly recommended Place. Only drawback is that it's a bit far to walk to and from town, so transport is needed.
