Our family visited Atami during New Year and literally checked in on New Year Eve! The staff were super welcoming and helpful. We actually went to the wrong hotel building at check in, and they immediately sent a pick-up for us to get to the correct building. The meals included in our hotel package were all buffet, and the food was amazing! There was a very wide variety of choices. You can even enjoy the ocean view during breakfast if the balcony (and shower) in your room is not enough for you to admire the beautiful Atami :) We would love to visit again during Summer to see the fireworks!

The hot spring bath was relaxing and the staff was very polite! Our room and bathroom was also big and spacious.

It’s located on the top of hill. My mom and I stayed in a deluxe room, which gets nice natural light and has a great sea view. The room was big and it was perfect to chill out with other travel companies who were staying in a different room. Judging from the direction of the sun when I woke up, early risers can enjoy the sunrise. Both dinner and breakfast offer variety of tasty dishes. Staff are very courteous.

Beat my expectation!

Kanpo no yado, one of the good hotels around the Atami area, is a great place to stay for relaxation & well being. Upon arriving at the hotel, we we're welcomed warmly by the friendly staff. They made us feel so welcome and at home. Our room was spacious, very comfortable, and clean, not to mention the spectacular view from our balcony, seeing the real beauty of the whole Atami! We absolutely love our stay and would highly recommend to anyone visiting the Atami region.

The good :
The lobby was huge. There were even UFO machines an a gift shop present. 

The onsens where in the basement, easily accessible. There was an outdoor area and it was just fantastic sitting there in the winter and relaxing. 

Parking was right in front of the hotel. 

The room included a nice large tub for as a personal onsen experience. The water filling system was fully automatic and controlled by an electronic panel just above the tub. Very futuristic include in an otherwise more traditional room. There were 2 single beds with a tatami living area where 2 more futons can be place. The room was definitely large enough to fit 4. 

Awesome views from the balcony of Atami and the seaside. 

The bad:
The location is a bit off from the station. Thankfully the hotel provides feeder buses from the door step.  Made a mistake to going to the sister hotel and had to drive a big round to get to the right place. Best to confirm on the GPS before setting off. 

The room was a bit traditional and the toilet was separated from the bath. The furnishings were a little dated. Clean but old.

This place sits on a hillside, a little away from Atami main district. 
We stayed in a suite on the top floor, the view from our room was magnificent, overlooking Atami bay. 
Course menu at the restaurant was of a good value and quality. Drinks are set for reasonable price. 
The entire complex is covered by free wifi.
The down side is that this place is a bit isolated, good 15 minutes of steep hill walk to the nearest shops. Best hopping onto a bus which runs every half an hour.

Great view 

Stayed here recently and was stunned by the views from our room. Overlooking Atami Harbour so you get lovely sunrises and great position for the regular night time fireworks which last over 10 min. Located up a steep hill, only for the fit to walk but not too far from the Atami township. Taxi is about 900yen from rail station to hotel. There are two buildings, we stayed in the lower one. Rooms have a very authentic feel, with casual and sleep kimonos provided, sliding panel on two sides of the bed area. Nice touch was the two sweets provided with the tea making equipment. Bathroom is small but has the spectacular harbour views from the bath -  as does the balcony.Staff ar every friendly and helpful.

Great views, quiet hotel

Have stayed here many times. Sometimes for short period of two or three days and enjoyed restaurant dining, sometimes one to two weeks and had room with kitchen.
Restaurant food is excellent. Always well prepared and presented. Service is wonderful. Staff are very friendly and helpful.
Rooms with kitchen are well equipped. 
The views from the balconies are amazing. Sunrise can be viewed and always great to watch the fireworks.
The hotel is at the top of a very steep hill. Most days we walk into town and sometimes look around Atami. Some days we use the Rail Pass to explore Japan. A taxi ride from the train station to the hotel is about US$15-20 and the bus US$3 ( approximately).
We usually walk up the hill for the exercise.
The onsen is very nice.
I like this hotel very much. It would be nice if Wi-Fi was available in the rooms. At the moment free Wi-Fi in the lobby only.
Will be returning in September which will be my 4th or 5th visit. I think that says how satisfied I am with my favourite hotel in Japan.
