We came off the ferry from Barcelona and stayed here for one night.   The host was very welcoming and full of information.   We would not have visited the Etruscan tombs in Tarquinia without his information and it was well worth a visit.   The accommodation is clean and pleasant.   The furniture is slightly strange and results in having nowhere to lay anything in the bedroom.   The breakfast is basic.

Pleased to find such a nice place near the ferry

This is a nice and clean establishment owned and operated by a family.  We found the mom and her son, Giovanni, very kind, caring and accommodating. The older son, Bino is a surfer/businessman/world traveler who has lived in San Diego, California and can discuss any issues of your interest, if you have enough time.
The place is 2.5 kilometers (less than 2 miles) from downtown Tarquinia, an ancient pre-Roman Empire town.  I wish the owners would entertain adding a chicken coop in their large beautiful orchard to offer fresh eggs.
If you ever go to Tarquinia, I suggest you visit Una Vetrina and meet this artist who makes angels, mice and other things out of books.  In the photos below, this British, French, Italian lady holds up an angel, which we bought.

A nice, relaxing olive orchard

This place is a rustic, beautifully appointed, authentic and ideal location for those who want to experience what an Italian olive grove/fruit farm experience is like.

I chose this place because it is very near the Civitecchia port for our Disney cruise, yet it’s far enough away to not be on the actual crowded and noisy docks or further away in Rome. 

Moreover, I had always wanted to visit an olive grove, esp as the history of olives and olive oil has always fascinated me from an anthropological perspective.

The interiors remind me of old Italian movies — there’s an elegance to its rustic feel. The wood beam and brick ceilings, door panels, alcoves, stonework, etc., add to the experience. But it’s not all for show. This is a working farm. 

The owners let us walk around to see the olive groves, apricot trees and grapes growing. Asparagus and artichokes are also grown here. The artichokes were visible as we drove out — looking like hearty flowers and when the sun’s rays hit them, they looked like purple glowing blooms. 

They even gave golf clubs if you want to practice your swing. And behind the olive grove is a small pond/lake. 

The rooms were intentionally constructed for agritourism. So, they have all the conveniences, including WiFi, the best air conditioning and TV. We’d stayed in 5star hotels where the AC wasn’t as good. 

The breakfast included home made cakes (baked by the mother), assorted breads, tomatoes, meats, cheese, hot drinks (good cappuccino) made to order and yogurt. 

The owner welcomed us politely and took time to provide detailed information about the nearby town and seaside, including restaurant selections and points of interest. 

Our 10-yr-old son had been spoiled by larger chain hotels, like the Ritz. But after his experience here, he decreed that this place is “platinum” level. While this is rustic and doesn’t have glass pools or luxe spas and silk linens, this place has so much more in other ways (seclusion, beauty, friendliness, authenticity). For that reason, I give it 5 stars.

Authentic and ideal for pre-cruise stay

We stayed here for only one night prior to leaving Italy from Fumicino airport . 
We all wish we had found this little gem at the beginning of our trip. Giovanni and his parents were wonderful hosts and the breakfast was out of this world! Normally served as of 0830 they accommodated us with having it served early for our departure to the airport and we ate at 0715 ! We were so pleased with everything! We will definitely return !

Amazing !

As soon as we entered the property, one of the owners rushing out and gave us a very warm welcome. We are then directed to our room immediately so that we can unload our luggage. At the time time, the owner explained the facility and the keys to the back door and front door of the room. 

We don't need to wait for the check in at all because the owner already taken care of the whole process and we don't even need to worry about at all.

My wife and I both are very pleased that we were given fruits and two bottles of water for free where not every B&B will provide these gifts. This is a very nice touch and the thought from the owner!

That was our last day staying at Italy and we didn't feel like eating outside because we need to finished off the wines that we bought from the wineries. We bought some cold cuts and bread before arriving the B&B. We asked the owner if we can use their dining table (for breakfast) for having dinner, he was very kind even covering the table with the table cloth and gave us plates, knifes and forks plus wine glasses.  We offered to clean up the dishes after used but he just took the dishes and told us not to worry about it!!  

During dinner, we had a chance to even met the parents of the B&B, they are also very friendly and warm.

For breakfast, there are lots of choices of bread, juices, fruits and we even being offered for refill of coffee if we didn't have enough.

When we checked out in the morning, another brother gave us very clear direction of what to visit at Tarqunia because our flight is at night.

We highly recommend visitors to stay with this lovely people and you will enjoy the same hospitality as we are!!!

Great Owners and Pleasant Stay

My sister and I stayed here for 2 nights enroute from Rome to Florence. Prior to this, we had been travelling across Western Europe and had stayed at multiple small towns and large cities, and our experience at Agriturismo Lupo Cerrino has been by far one of the best. This was due largely to the fact that the family that owns the place is extremely kind and hospitable (they really went out of their way to ensure we enjoyed our stay). We highly recommend that you hire a car beforehand to make the most of your stay at Tarquinia as it is a beautiful place.

We love our food and Mechi (sorry if this is the incorrect spelling) makes an amazing breakfast! Her zucchini slice is delicious and the fruits and veggies you see in the breakfast spread are from their vegetable garden and fruit trees. Make sure to walk around the property to see firsthand the great produce and to bask in the sun!  

After a day of exploring and indulging in delicious food (we highly recommend Ristorante Girardengo and make sure to leave space for dessert!), we came home to a warm smile from the wonderful Mechi and spacious rooms with comfy beds and a view of the garden outside. Thanks so much for a fantastic time Agriturismo Lupo Cerrino - we hope to come back again!
