the whole area was in a bad condition. Examples are: a very old and extremy dusty sofa. The garden furniture has lost it´s color because of its age. An old and rusty nail stood out of the bench on our terrace where kids are suppodes to eat. Some 15m directly next to our appartment was a 15mx15m are where the owner stores tons of mess (old stuff, wood, ...) - what a miseable view! The area around the pool is uncultivated, the furniture is not nice, the shower is a bad joke! All over the are: uncultivated and old. What a pitty for such a property. Be aware of the fact that the owner charges the whole (!) money 6 weeks in advance (was written in the "small letters" in booking.com - very unusual for booking.com!). Not a good deal for 2000 Euros a week!

We stayed in Monte Caprili for 4 days. The accommodation is a stunning old house over-looking the beautiful Tuscan hills.

The owner Andrea was very friendly and made us feel very welcome.

He prepared all essentials to make our stay very enjoyable: cooking essentials, breakfast essentials, coffee, tea, a BBQ and charcoal, hairdryer, bathroom essentials,etc.

The pool was amazing and we could enjoy nature at its best. Very quiet and peaceful area surrounded by vineyards, olive trees and forest.

The accommodation is located 10 minutes drive to Montalcino. Where you can enjoy restaurants, shops and a nice day out surrounded by beautiful scenery.

We will definitely go back to stay at Monte Caprili. I had a dream holiday I will never forget.



Amazing place for a holiday in the heart of Tuscany

We spent two nights at Montecaprili in the Studio room. We were disappointed as the Studio was described as self catering but it was not sufficient to cook in. There was no sink in the kitchen meaning we had to wash up in the bathroom and there was just a hot plate to cook food on which did not get hot enough to boil water. When we arrived the fridge was also on full and the glass bottles inside it had smashed and the kettle smelt as if someone had cooked soup in it. 
The bed was comfortable however the bedroom was very hot at night without air con. The bathroom smelt damp and the bath and bidet were both stained which is not what we expected for the price of the room.
The view from Montecaprili was stunning but unfortunately we were unable to see it from our terrace. The pool was also dirty and not fit to swim in and the owners dogs would shake themselves off after swimming whilst we were sat around the pool.
Overall we were disappointed with our stay and the lack of attention to detail and care that had gone into the Studio room and surrounding grounds.

Disappointed by the Studio

Can't speak highly enough of Montecaprili. The location is fairly remote but this added to the experience for us. The property itself is stunning and although the decor is classic rather than modern we found that it had everything we needed. The host Andrea is extremely helpful and nothing is too much trouble. He provided everything from delicious local wine to coals and fire lighters for the barbecue. I would certainly stay here again and will be sure to recommend this place to anyone looking for help with accommodation in Tuscany.

Beautiful quaint farmhouse with excellent host

Room is very big and comfortable. Rustic and charming decoration, don't expect any luxury. 
The surroundings are beautiful, the view is spectacular. 
The location for us was great, close to many wine producers and close enough to downtown Montalcino. 
They provide breakfast supplies, and there is a Nespresso machine. 
No big deal... but there was no shower on our room, Just bath tub. 
No one does room cleaning or wash dishes from breakfast. But we knew that before...
I would stay there again for sure!



Lovely View

We enjoyed our time at Montecaprili.  The apartment was well furnished but the bathrooms could have used some upgrading.  Our shower would not drain properly so you were standing in about a foot of water while showering which was not pleasant.  Also, the espresso machine in our room wasn't working properly, the espresso came out cold.  However, they did have water, milk and orange juice in the fridge which was nice.  Overall, I would recommend visiting the property but also recommend a few upgrades be made.
