We were coming from France to visit Puglia for the first time and had a fantastic experience there: the place is located 10 minutes from downtown Lecce and is less than an hour from most other interesting places in South Puglia. We had a fantastic and very warm welcome from Gina who really likes to share her passion for her home region around a very nice and home maid breakfast. Rooms recently renewed, very calm. We will definitely return there next time!

Fantastic stay in August 2019

We stayed in the Lecce area for 3 days, and spent two pleasant nights at the Masseria. 

Our late check in went well, and we were very pleased with the charm of the masseria - it has its own chapel, as well as many different places for relaxing in the sun (or shade). 

The room was very big and well renovated, the bathroom was especially nice. 
Our host was lovely and gave us excellent recommendations for Lecce (including the best pizza we ate on our trip), including for where to park. The breakfast she prepared was really nice, using lots of local products. I especially enjoyed the huge pile of ricotta and the pumpkin jam!

The masseria is about 10 minutes drive from the centre of Lecce so it was perfect for us for visiting the city, while staying in nature. 

The only drawback is that the masseria is on a country road that cars take quite quickly, and our room gave directly onto the road. I slept fine, but light sleepers may not be as comfortable.

Lovely spacious rooms, great breakfast and a very helpful host

We have stayed 3 nights in La Lizza and it was a nice comfortable stay.  It is a very interesting historical place , we have been told by the owner that this was once a monastery with its own chapel, then government office then collective farm so I liked that aspect of the long history behind this farm. and rooms are very large and comfortable.  Location of the farm is just 10 minutes drive to the central Lecce and it is a great location for discovering that part of Puglia.  We stayed in the room which directly faced the road from the back and you can hear some traffic particularly in the morning but it was not super busy road and we didn't mind that much. Windows are very high so there is no problem with the lights from the road at all.  Perhaps this was not usual thing but we didn't think breakfast was that plentiful in the days we stayed there as people are describing in other other reviews. It was sufficient but not that amazing and not that much choice at all. But overall It is definitely worth the cost of the stay, stay here is priced very fairly.  Lovely friendly owners.

Very nice stay

The Masseria is an old monastery farm from the 16th century with a small chapel. The rooms are huge.  Giuliani was a wonderful hostess who showed us the chapel, told us of her family history with the property and made an amazing breakfast which included her homemade breads and jams.  The property is 5 minutes by car to the center of Lecce and has free very safe parking.  I would definitely stay there again.

Wonderful Masseria experience in historical property

Stayed at La Lizza for 2 nights and loved it.The old abbey had been restored with great taste.
Luigina is  the most welcoming and attentive hostess  and her  breakfast is wonderful.
As we were driving North, she pointed out to go to Matera (Ba) as a next stop and we were so glad we had followed her advice.Matera turned out to be a highlight.
Thank you Luigina, we will be back next year on our annual trip to Greece.
