Spent a very special week at San Luis Lodges, and from beginning to end it was an experience full of surprise and delight. Visited as a solo guest and stayed in the Studio accommodation, which is the one room category meant for 1 person (and priced as such) and it was spacious and luxurious and felt incredibly private. The studio has the private sauna (privacy glass with a view of the lake) and a deck large enough for a lounge chair and small table, but doesn't have the outdoor hot tub or a fireplace... I knew this going in, but sharing for anyone in research mode because there's limited reviews here about the Studio specifically. Breakfast came discreetly every morning at the time of my choosing, from a menu emailed the day prior, which was so fun, overwhelming in the best way. Blessed with an unobstructed view of the mountains all day and the stars at night with no light pollution, I could have spent the entire time in my room, but there was so much to experience around the resort grounds

I enjoyed several spa treatments with the wonderful practitioner Andrea, peaceful and therapeutic services that were very fairly priced. The pools and hot tub were surrounded by countless places to relax by the water and enjoy the sun and views, with regular check-ins from the bar staff and so much space that it never felt crowded. Dinner every night was a treat- same table each dinner so I got to know my "neighbors" but felt a nice level of distance between tables so everyone could enjoy their own experience. I never made it to the light lunch service (either was too full from breakfast, or out exploring) but the cake service in the afternoon was so delightful. 

I would have been happy to relax the whole time on site but the San Luis staff helped with recommendations and logistics to get out and explore the surrounding area. Offered complimentary bus/train/museum pass in the region, as well as access to fabulous courtesy EVs - there's an app to navigate the public transportation schedules, but I would also suggest downloading the Tschogglberg app which outlines 5 adventure trails in the area (some paved, some with childrens activities,  some full day advanced circuits) 2 of which (Haflinger and Knottnkino) you can start from the San Luis gates. 

Arrived a bit apprehensive that this wouldn't live up to the hype I had seen on their incredible IG account and all of these glowing reviews, but left an adoring devotee even more impressed and in awe of this special place, full of gratitude for the hospitality I experienced and already saving up to return someday soon.

Luxury with the biggest heart

An amazing experience overall.  From the moment you walk in to the moment you leave.

Service is impeccable, the design is outstanding, the food is superb, and the overall experience is one that can't be described in words or shared in photos.

We left in awe of it all and would love to return.  It was ultimate relaxation.  My words escape me in trying to describe how much we love San Luis.

For design lovers out there, it felt like you were staying in a Restoration Hardware hotel mixed with Jenni Kayne.  Just STUNNING.

Amazing place… great food and amazing relax! This place is absolutely magical if you are looking to be left alone from all the external vibes. You get your house and just forget about the outside world.
Only 2 small minuses : 1 some houses are far from the main restaurant / spa / lobby and pool area … so in the snow and cold freezing winter it could be inconvenient, specially if u need to change yourself every time you go out from and to the room to interact with the hotel facilities.  Second minus, the housekeeping is not the best. 
All the rest is great, specially the architecture and nature.

The place is incredible from A to Z: the service is excellent, cheerful and efficient, The place is run 7/24 by the family
The bedrooms are very big with a gorgeous view.

Idyllic lodges on a lake . family very well run hotel

Its just what we imagined as a retreat .. idylic place, womderful chalets, warm & personal staff, always there, always helpful … wanting to  fulfill our wishes, we will certainly be back and recommend to all our friends !

Ideal retreat …

This is one of my favourite places in the entire world. You feel a sense of calm and comfort as soon as you are greeted over the intercom by Claudia and co at the front gate of the grounds, and it only gets better from there. The setting is beautiful, the lodges are so comfortable (love cycling from the hot tub, to the sauna, to bed for a nap) and the different spa areas in the main building are comfy, serene and with stunning views. The food is delicious and varied every evening, with a couple of mainstays (I always have a Wiener schnitzel and fonduta at least once per stay!). It is the perfect place to decompress.

4th visit and still as wonderful as ever

This is the 3rd time my husband and I decided to stay at San Luis for the wither holidays. Everything was as perfect as usual, starting from the beautiful views surrounds us every morning, to the in room breakfast, the treatments at the spa and last bit not least the gourmet dinner and wine card. But over all what we enjoy the most is the warm welcoming of the Meister family, who constantly make us feel at home.

Home away from home

San Luis resort is perfect in every way, especially for a honeymoon. The resort is so quite and spacious that it felt like we were the only two people there - which was the éxact feeling we wanted to experience during this special trip. We stayed for the whole week and got the honour to celebrate Christmas there... I think it will be very hard to top Christmas we celebrated there :-) The food - which is already amazing - was just perfect that evening. One of our hobbies is going to Michelin star-rated restaurants and believe us when we tell that the cuisine of San Luis Resort can easily compete with those restaurants. 
The spa, the pool(s), the jacuzzi, the lake (was frozen but o so beautiful)... We miss it every day.

The landscape, architecture, hospitality and kindness of the staff, cleanliness, requests are handled right away without hesitation and even better than what we asked for. The very few bad reviews I found back are 100% tackled and handled. None of the things I read were applicable to San Luis resort now - except for the impossibility to visit the property if you are not a guest, that is still applicable, clearly explained on the website and very much appreciated by all the guests. 

The question is not if we go back, but when we go back. The price is justified and if you disagree then you don't realise the effort the family and staff are putting into it every day to make it so perfect. "Perfection comes with a price", the memories are forever. 

Definition of Perfection

My wife and I recently spent 5 nights at San Luis, and we’re already planning on returning. The hotel itself is beautiful, with every amenity you could ask for. Our room had a massive deck with a view of the mountains, along with a private sauna and hot tub. We awoke each morning to breakfast already laid out on our kitchen table. Each day was spent relaxing by the indoor pool next to a wood fire. Food and service were fantastic. Really, the attention to detail was exceptional. Thank you for the wonderful time, we’ll be back soon

A very special mountain retreat

This hotel is one of my favourite in the world - this was my second time and I loved it even more! The treehouses and chalets are so unique
The service is so friendly - the owner Alex was so warm and loving to us 
There is no other way to describe this hotel except - pure magic!
