NIDA Rooms Makassar Savu

Just had a short time room as my clients were running late by 4 hours, very helpful and clean rooms, rate was good after driving for 4 hours.Good car parking.long wide driveway, small snacks were good, staff very happy and cheerful, A good place to rest up and spend a night, very convenient to everything.

Quite clean main road, good room sizes

We arrived at the Lestari hotel very early in the morning with no booking but got a room without any problems. We stayed in a standard double room with air condition, TV, and wifi for 242.000 Rp per night. This price included breakfast but it was just toast with jam and tea/coffee.
The room seemed nice and clean but the blanket on the bed was really dusty. My friend has allergies (which has never been a problem before) and he reacted quite a lot when he was in the room and it stop as he stepped out. So we couldn't really stay that much in the room. 
The hotel is quite centrally located and you can walk to most things that there is to see. But the hotel itself is down some small streets and alleys.
The staff was really nice and they even called our room one morning to make sure we didn't miss breakfast. They also helped us book a taxi to go to the airport when we had to check out. 
The hotel is a good budget option with really nice staff but be aware of the dusty blankets. 

Decent budget hotel

The rooms are simple but reasonably big and clean. I stayed in two different rooms. Not to bore with the details but the only reason I stayed two nights was my bag did not arrive on my plane. The staff was quite unhelpful all around (albeit with a smile) not allowing me to make a phone call to the agent from Silk Air for instance, and also putting my bags out of my room while I was out as I had not specifically told them I was staying another night. Which is to say, I had only told them I would stay until my bag arrived (I came with nothing other than a day pack filled with books, my camera and not much else). While the latter could be considered a misunderstanding (unlikely but not beyond possible), the thing with the phone was just ridiculous. And all of this for 250k/night for a windowless room. Not good value generally in Makassar for lodging but Lestari is still poor value; I stayed in a far superior hotel in Makassar (Hotel Venus Kencana) for the same price on my way home.

Not so great

I stayed in this hotel for 1 night only and was very disappointed with the room and the service.
-Only the most expensive rooms in this hotel have windows
-Rooms have not been insulated well and are very noisy
-Breakfast was very poor: I couldn't get milk for my coffee...
- the staff spoke extremely limited English & answered "Not in this area" on my questions regarding internet cafés, a certain travel agency, restaurants, a becak & milk for my coffee
- When I woke up in the middle of the night I saw 2 cockraoches crawling around.
-It was very warm but I had to turn off the A/C as it was very loud AND brought food and cigarette smells into my room

A disappointment

The room looked clean, it was large, had a fridge, hot water, AC...and all for 200,000 rupiah per night. I was happy. And then I woke up in the middle of the night to see roach-like bugs in the bed. The next morning, I had several bedbug bites on my ankles. Unfortunate...
