If you are looking for a quite ,pleasent area to spend your days in houseboats,then THE KHAN PALACE will be the best for it.It is Iocated at the lotus lake,which is the back side of dal lake and i can assure you that you will love it,we cant describe the beauty of that place by words and the people mainly JOHN,is a very good guy who is like a brother to me now..we are very happy with our stay and we just loved it❤️..looking forward to meet them soon...with lots of love

I’m a solo traveler and I stayed for 10 days in the houseboat. I had a very nice time, John was good company during my stay and with the activities. The rooms are clean, the shower is hot and the foood I will never forget. Super sweet family and the woman can cook perfectly😍 

The boat is located on a nice and peaceful place in Dal lake. When you chill on the balcony of the boat, you have a amazing few on the mountains, where you can do beautiful sightseeing and trekkings. Also you can easily take an Shikara to go shopping in the nice floating handicraft shops and walk to city centre Srinagar. 

This stay is good for solo travelers and small groups. I recommend everyone who comes to India to come to this place👍🏻

Amazing!

They call this paradise for a reason! Staying on the houseboats and making friends with our hosts was such a wonderful experience, I still keep in touch with them today!  They took us around Kashmir and showed us lovely views, fed us wonderful food and we almost crashed an Indian wedding being held on one of the house boats! We didn’t but the memories we made talking about it still make me laugh. Lovely time, lovely people, lovely trip! I would hope to do it again!

Amazing place Amazing hosts!!

This place was absolutely lovely. I met Khan and his family and in Delhi and then stayed in their houseboat on the lake. A beautiful room with a living room and balcony that you can relax on all hours of the day. Amazing sunrise and sunsets. The family are so hospitable and will make you feel at home. Take a boat tour around the lake too!

Amazing houseboat with incredible family

Though I went for a business purposes, I really enjoyed the stay here in Khan Palace. The stay was really good. Friendly nature and good services. The rooms are Clean and presented neatly.  Had a personal space and calm environment. Food they served was tasted good.

I stay in houseboat khanpalace its beautiful stay..I love Ford and familia..I always want come to khanpalace..they provide best services and hospitalitty is best and view from there of lake is perfect .

We stayed at the Khan palace houseboat on the Dal lake for a week in early September and it was one of the most pleasant experiences of our many months staying in India. 
It is in a fairly secluded part of the lake, not near the front where the houseboats are lined up next to each other but a short boat taxi (shikara) ride away to a lovely spot where you have a beautiful view of the lake with the mountains rising up in the distance.
The houseboat has a lovely design with attractive carved wooden lattice work everywhere and some beautiful traditional furniture both in the lounge and the bedroom, the bed was comfy and the shower had plenty of hot water. 
Jhon the owner is a very nice guy and extremely helpful in arranging day trips or any local sightseeing that might interest you. Also Shefi, who works for Jhon, is there whenever you need him, serving breakfast, dinner or kashmiri tea whenever it was needed. The food was freshly prepared and cooked for us every day by the family who live nearby behind the house boat and the food really was absolutely delicious and incredibly reasonably priced I can highly recommend it!
This is a fabulous option for couples looking for a tranquil, beautiful, reasonably priced and most of all a friendly stay on the amazing Dal lake in Srinagar.

Beauty and tranquility on the Stunning Dal lake

My hasband and I stayed for 2 nights there. A man was working there apparently was so kind, but he cheated on us. And also I bought one kashmiri shal there, unfortunately it was lost in that boat . 
So many other tragedies happend that I strongly not to suggest this place for staying.
