Winter Vale Green Stay Resorts

I've searched & compared a lot of resorts in and around Vagamon and selected Winter Vale Green Stay. Stayed one night there in a standard room and got much cheaper rate through Agoda. We came there in a late afternoon and little bit surprised with the number of vehicles in the parking lot, and learned from the staff that a lot of outside customers are also coming there just to have lunch, so no need to mention separately about their food quality. The resort is opposite to the Kurisumala entry road, approx. 500 meter from the Erattupetta-Vagamaon main road. Approach road to the resort from the main road is very narrow, but well tarred. You should be careful on the curves because the road is too narrow. Once you reach the resort, then you are entering to a green lush world spread over 30 acres of plantations, a huge real size elephant sculpture will welcome you in the parking. Extremely friendly staff will welcome you in a traditional Kerala style with Chandana kuri (Sandal wood paste applied on the fore head) and with a ginger tea. Reception staffs were very friendly and courteous and gave us a detailed description about the resort. The standard room on the first floor (room no. H-2, above the recreational area) seems little bit old, but huge in size with a balcony and nice external view. They will serve complimentary tea with a snack at a place near the restaurant. Dinner was very tasty and the restaurant staff also very friendly. Complimentary breakfast is fair enough, with more South Indian dishes. Upon check out, they gave us a small present (car perfume), which is appreciated. I strongly recommend this resort to my fellow travelers. A few suggestions to the resort management :- 1. Back side of the standard room (we stayed in H-2), seems abandoned with a dry feeling. I am not sure whether this land also belongs to the resort or not. If yes, a small garden in that area will enhance the look, please try to add some plants there. If that area is not belonging to the resort, still you could make a hanging garden behind the standard rooms. 2. Standard room looks little bit old, please re-paint it, also the A/c and the toilet exhaust fan are making too much sound. 3. Since the resort is spread over 30+ acres of land and the roads are not level, it will be better to have electric buggy golf cars for the usage of guests for easy commutation.
