Hotel Geo

Had to stay in some Hotel in the last minute a few nights ago. Was around Fort Kochi, and was lost. I saw this gargantuan structure. An old building with ample parking. Enter the Hotel Geo,Went in, the space of the place was incredible. Always used to these small hotels that look like garages in the area. Got myself a room, a very reasonable rate... functional and minimalist rooms, the AC worked well. After a good sleep and a shower, the pressured water was awesome. Went down to have breakfast in a very basic type restaurant.. The chicken curry and patri was awesome. Went down gallivanting to Fort Kochi..the biennial is simply divine and running now. Came back for a nap and some lunch, approached the restaurant attached to Hotel Geo, breakfast was awesome, try my luck for lunch. The restaurant inside is basic and looks very plain. Asked the waiter what to order and he said fish thali. Ordered the same---it was the best meal I have had in a long time---awesome fish, lovely curries rice and the traditional Kerala foods.Ate well. the bill was the next surprise. A very very reasonable bill of some 140 rs. How cool is that---the crowd was people who looked highly local and would beat up the cooks if the food was not up 2 the mark-- A truly wonderful discover---on inquiry on how long they had been around=== I got varying answers from 39 to 67 years. If you can let it a little to Fort Kochi, this is a fantastic place with some very reasonable rates. The food is so amazing--totally in touch with local culture. A welcome change from the usual tourist crap that I get served in Fort Kochi with its slew of fly by nighters.
