Bipin the host was very welcoming and nothing was a problem. Home-cooked nutritious food was served every breakfast, lunch and dinner and was simply amazing. The place is a 5 minute walk from a secluded beach, and the location of the property is in a really quiet area outside of Kannur. Great place for relaxation and to while away the hours listening and spotting local wildlife.

Bipin is really sensitive to the needs of the traveller, and has a vast library of books to digest while kicking back. Everything from Indian classics like Malgudi days, to the birdlife of India.

My only regret was leaving too soon!

Incredible Homestay

Had a really great time at Bipin’s place outside Kannur. Morning walks on the empty beach, meeting the locals around the quiet streets, home cooked food and some unique local sights that Bipin and the local driver arranged for us. This is a great place well off the tourist track.

Favourite Place in North Kerala

The owner Bipin is amazing. The beach is undiscovered and breathtaking and so relaxing to swim in. Often you see dolphins diving in and out of the water. The facilities are spotless modern and great. 
It's sheltered by coconut and mango trees. Its literally a 5 minute walk from the beach, if not less. One can hear the waves at all times. Food is wholesome, filling and delicious. I staid there 6 weeks and it was the nicest experience of my life. I wish i could have staid longer it actually made me sad to leave. I plan to be back. There is also an extensive range of books covering lots of genres including a number of indian classics.

Literally a slice of Heaven

Bipin is a wonderful host who arranged several interesting trips for us, including a visit to a  very genuine Theyyam ritual taking place in a small village nearby, where we were made very welcome.  Home-cooked food was excellent. The nearest beach is just 5 minutes walk and is beautiful - and exceedingly quiet and peaceful. We were amazed to have it all to ourselves most days. The hammock in the garden was also an enjoyable location for a siesta.  The homestay can be quite hard to find - it's best if you give the taxi or tuktuk driver Bipin's number so they can get directions.

Our stay here was perfect. The home stay is quiet and relaxing. The beach is beautiful and so peaceful. The food is delicious. The owner is always present and there to help with anything. He is genuinely a lovely man. I would highly recommend this place!

Amazing

Driving our way up from Kochi to Goa we decided to a break for a few nights in Kannur. Ivory Coast’e home stay near Thottada Beach seemed an ideal place to do so. It is located very near to the Thottada and Kizhunna beaches near Kannur, at the same time it was away from the hustle and bustle of the city. 

It was a bit difficult to locate his bungalow without GPS, and we had to phone Bipin when we reached  Thottada village. He was very helpful and came out to the village to guide us home which was about 3 km inside. 

We had a very clean and comfortable ground floor room with attached bathroom. The room was quite airy and we did not require the AC. It is a one storied bungalow with some rooms on the ground and some on the first floor. There is an open area dining room where we were served home cooked meals. There were some good books in the open bookshelf. We were so relaxed, my wife picked up a Sudha Murthy novel and finished it in one day. There was a hammock in the garden and a clothes line to dry our clothes. There are three bicycles which you can borrow and ride around the by-lanes of Thottada and Kizhunna villages. Free wi-fi was available in the common areas.

I would walk down to the pristine beaches nearby and take a morning walk on the clean sands. There were no stalls or shacks on the beaches, just surf, sand, waves, shells and sand piper birds. There were many other species of birds to be seen in the adjoining forests and bushes.

Bipin guided me the route to visit St. Angelo’s Fort and the Arakkal Museum, both of which were worth a visit. The next evening we visited the Muzhappilangad (Drive In) Beach, one of the longest driveable beaches in the world, and witnessed a lovely sunset.

We were served very tasty home cooked meals for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Breakfast included idiappams with potato stew, Puttu with Kadla curry, and Idli with coconut chutney. Lunch and dinner included rice or chapattis with a vegetable and a gravy dish and pappadams and curd. Fish was available on request.

We enjoyed our stay at Ivory Coast’e and would love to visit again.

Seaside Homestay On The North Kerala Coast.

Without any doubt, it is a fantastic place to have south Indian food. They make it delicious as they add their unique ingredients.
It is located near beach in kannur kerala 🏖 premises, which is the add on to its image.
Staff is very polite and cooperative. They serve all the items in a short time.

Host Bivin, is extremely accomodating, helpful and generous with the ways in which he supports and maintains these accommodations.
Food is simple and delicious if one chooses to eat on site.
The proximity to a remarkably beautuful and  "under-used" beach is a matter of a few minutes walk. One can easily hear the rhythmic cycles of the sea from all the rooms. The home stay is kept clean and well maintained. It is quiet and a lovely place to read, rest and renew ones energies if so interested.

What a wonderful place to stay! Warm welcome by a kind and generous host, Bipin.

Off the beaten track and away from any hustle and bustle - this beautifully maintained guesthouse, set amongst the palm trees, is a real gem. Bipin, the owner and host, was at the gate to meet us on arrival and show us to our huge, and spotlessly clean, bedroom and en-suite bathroom - a super-efficient ceiling fan and breeze from the open windows, combined with the sound of waves breaking on the nearby beach, ensured us a great nights sleep. The guesthouse is very well maintained and we enjoyed getting to know other guests in the outdoor eating area. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are all cooked fresh - traditional and delicious. There is a small garden area with hammock and somewhere to hang your laundry - Bipin will do the washing for you. Two beaches are within a 5 minute walk along a quiet lane - for 2 days we had the beach to ourselves, it was heaven! It's a 10 minute tuk tuk ride to the small local town, and around 20 minutes to Kannur. If you want to do a bit of sightseeing, Kannur Fort and Lighthouse are close by - Bipin will happily organise transport for you. Whilst the WiFi could be a bit 'spotty', 4G worked great everywhere. If you are looking for peace and tranquility in a beautiful location - this is it!

Beautiful. Peaceful. Relaxing.

I stayed here for 5 days with my family, mom, sisters and their famiyl and we enjoyed each day. Bipin is a wonderful host, well spoken, very courteous, patient with the children. He has good local knowledge and is able to suggest and guide well.

The food is local cuisine. The menu is limited but the taste is excellent and non spicy. Everything is freshly made. Both veg and non-veg options are there.

The rooms are very clean and neat. There is no ac but if you leave the windows open, it is fine. There is a nice hammock too and you can hear the waves while chilling.

The beach is literally a minute away. There is a shortcut which is narrow and a bit of climb but the kids loved it cause it gave the air of a secret passage. This part doesn't have many people. It has a nice gradient so children can also go in. The pull of the waves is strong so everyone has to be careful.

Bipin also has a cycle, which can be used to cycle around or go to the shops which are about 2 kilometres away.

I would really recommend this place for solo travelers, couples and families with older children.
