I stayed in one of the studio apartments located on the second floor and the room is lovely and spacious and has everything you need for a holiday. Big wardrobe and kitchen (which has a two ring hob and a little oven, fridge, kettle, toaster and a coffee maker) as well as enough cutlery. The beds were comfortable enough and the room had air conditioning. In the bathroom they also provided little bottles of shower gel and shampoo, as well as dental kits which was a nice touch. Highlight of this hotel has to be the pool area. The pool area has sunbeds and umbrellas and there is also an on site bar as well. Short walk into the main village of stoupa if you go one way or even closer to Kalogria.

We stayed at these apartments as an alternative to Crete, that was because Crete was removed from the safe to go list. Mainland Greece was still ok to go without quarantine on return, the apartments were just what we wanted nice and clean, we were on the ground floor and it had a terrace at the back which was quite big and private, the entrance door at the front was just yards from the swimming pool. The position of the apartments were quite handy just a ten minute stroll to the beach where all the restaurants are and if you go the other way from the apartments you come to a main road where you have a choice of two supermarkets, these have everything you need. I would recommend these apartments and hopefully we will return.

Nice apartments in a nice setting

Stayed here as a last minute booking because we were due to go to Crete but with the air corridor being removed from some of the Greek islands we had to find somewhere to go, we had a ground floor apartment and it had a door that that was just a few steps away from the pool and a good sized patio at the back where we spent a lot of time sitting out there with a ouzo or two. It was nice and private, the apartment was kept clean and towels and linen changed every other day, but the floor was never mopped so my wife did that as mop and bucket was supplied, would recommend these apartments.

Due to stay hear for 2 weeks. Paid for 2 apartments back in November 2019. Now they won’t answer their phones or respond to emails. We paid over £2000 and now no holiday they should have had the decency to contact  their guests to offer a refund or another date. But no they are keeping the money . WHICH IS UNSCRUPULOUS And IS STEALING PEOPLES MONEY

I recently stayed here for a week with my partner, and have to say the hotel exceeded my expectations on many levels.

It's slightly outside of the resort on the main road, but it's not a major issue at all and very convenient for the supermarket.

The hotel its self was spotlessly clean, the rooms felt very spacious, the pool was a very welcome addition and the staff were extraordinarily accommodating and very friendly.

Would I stay here again? Absolutely, yes.

Fantastic

We stayed at the Aphrodite Hotel for 11 nights last September and highly recommend it. We booked a spacious one-bedroom apartment on the ground floor, which comprised of a large lounge area with kitchen, table and chairs, a settee, a safe deposit box and a separate bedroom with plenty of wardrobe space. Off this room we had a terrace with outside furniture and being at the back of the property it was very private. The front of our apartment faced the swimming pool so it was very easy to just walk out our front door and go for a swim and the lovely little bar by the reception area was a nice touch too. What we did notice whilst sitting here some of the other apartments had there outside space facing the pool so if you like peace, quiet and some privacy then its best checking when booking which room you may be given. The staff at the Aphrodite were very pleasant and on hand if needed and we really liked the fact we was just left to enjoy our holiday without any interference from them. The air conditioning was free along with the safe deposit box but as we booked independently this may not be the case if you are staying with a tour operator. Location wise the apartments are just set back from the main road and the two large supermarkets that are nearby supplies everything you could possibly want for self-catering. The main beach, bars and restaurants were just a leisurely 15 minutes stroll away down a narrow lane then road and we spent most evenings in the 360 bar enjoying the panoramic views or eating in the restaurants. This was our first time to Stoupa and we really enjoyed the resort and the nearby villages of Kardamyli and Agios Nikolaos and when we return the Aphrodite hotel will definitely be on the top of our list.

Relaxing stay in Stoupa

My daughter and I stayed here in May this year for a week. The location was perfect and it was very quiet at that time of year so most days we had the pool to ourselves. We didn't have the problem with the restricted use of the pool as other reviewers have mentioned as I don't remember that restriction being in place then.
We had an upper floor with pool view. You can also see the sea in the distance . 
The only negative thing about the room was the uncomfortable beds! 
The walk into Stoupa was around 10 minutes. There are plenty of very good restaurants in the village and most of them are cheap.
We found the owners of the accommodation to be very friendly.
Highly recommend for a taste of the real Greece.


Greek getaway

The ground floor room we stayed was more like an appartment. A spacious living room with two sofas easily converted to nice beds, a dinner table, television and a fully (really fully!) equipped kitchenette. A large bedroom with twin bed and  a big closet, with a beautiful outside verandah. Both rooms had separate a/c units in perrfect order.Bathroom was good, with everything you would need, except a rather small shower. The place was extra-clean, the beds were excellent and furniture was of good taste, offering a great stay for a family of four.
The place is located at the edge of the village, in a very peaceful location,  in walking distance (7-8 mins) from both Stoupa and Kalogria beach and offers a free parking area. Outside pool is nice, expecially for kids.
Dimitra who runs the place is probably the biggest asset of this small hotel, being efficient, helpful, friendly and always with a big smile.

The hotel was a good choice for our holidays in Stoupa.
Close to both Stoupa and Kalogria beaches where you can still go on foot.
Quiet and ideal for families with a spacious room.
The only negative was the bath. The shower was too small and you could hardly have your bath, filling the floor with water. Therefore an adjustment is needed to overcome this issue.
Staff courteous and willing to serve and give a variety of information.

comfortable and a very good choice

The owner of the hotel has so many rules you wonder if you are actually on holiday!  One of the most annoying was the use of the pool. We along with several other families were told off for making use of the pool facilities during siesta time 2.30 till 5.30pm - exactly when young children want to escape from the heat. We appreciate the need to be quieter if there are Greek families using the accommodation but this is a tourist resort in peak season and we and the other families were far from noisy. The owner needs to recognise this and be less biased. The owner who was less than welcoming made up one excuse after another as to why we had to pay for air con and drinks in cash (the card machine had broken, it wasn't printing receipts, not Thomas Cook policy!!!)  - even though there were visa signs up everywhere and a sign stating explicitly that you could pay for bar snacks etc. with debit or credit cards. 

As we were in one of the middle apartments there was no natural bathroom ventilation - which was desperately needed - the stench was awful from the Greek waste system and if you ran the sink tap the drain on the floor spewed out dirty water/waste. It got so bad that we started to use the outside shower and pool toilet which were much more hygienic. We also found broken glass near the children's sofa bed and the plates/cutlery could have been cleaner on arrival.

Upon arrival 3 workmen turned up to mend a window blind - why this wasn't completed in the hours before our arrival and why 3 people were needed for such a simple job I have no idea - instead they waited until we were trying to unpack which we felt was rude and intrusive.

You were also not allowed to consume your own food or drink near the pool - which is ridiculous these are self catering apartments after all. This rule was made even more ridiculous by the fact that some apartments had patios feet away from the pool where you obviously could consume your own food/drink therefore penalising those who didn't have an apartment with a front facing patio.

We chose these apartments due to the positive reviews and the fact that everyone said how accommodating the owner was - unfortunately this was not our experience and her bias was clear for all to see.

The positives - The apartments are of a decent size and were in a wonderful location and the communal areas are kept clean. 

However my key advice is that these apartments should definitely be avoided if you are looking for a relaxed fun family holiday!
