Stefano and Vicki are absolutely charming without being intrusive. The breakfast is massive and varied over our stay. They are superb hosts who made the stay so special. 

Yes there are steps but the view, charm, warmth and traditional character are so worth it. The Mansion was built in the late 1800s. It is gorgeous with so much history and tradition. The views are absolutely breathtaking and we had a fire in our room each night which was beautiful and relaxing. 

Bed could have been softer and yes shower was small but there was so much fabulous character that overtook these negatives. 

Originally were staying one night but loved it so much we stayed 2. 

Not well sign posted but so so worth the stay. Unique with the warmest of hosts. So loved our 2 night stay. 


Excellent stay,Vicky and Stefanos did anything they could to please us.Super breakfast with local delicacies .Good value for money . We will return to Margaritis mansion  when we visit Pelion next year .

Beautiful traditional Pelion house overlooking Volos city. Friendly, kind owners. If you just walk up the hotel, you reach the square with giant stunning trees that you would love to hug, cafes and shops with Pelion. Pelion as whole is a must see

A really nice place with spectacular view, great architecture and hospitable owners. Best homemade breakfast I have ever eaten. It is the reason I will visit Makrinitsa again. For people with disabilities, it is good to know that the access is either from abruptly & vertically steps (from the parking lot to the hotel which is above) or from a path with slippery stones-if it rains (from the centre of Makrinitsa to the hotel which is below)

We visited Mansion Margaritis last winter as a couple weekend getaway ….and it was all we expected …… !!!!!!!!!!!! Placed in one of the most scenic villages of Pelion , in Makrinitsa, this traditional accommodation is housed in an old  Pelion mansion, built back in 1848. To actually get to the mansion you would need walk though narrow slated pedestrian street . 
The room had a fire fireplace and we were stocked every day with wood right outside of our doorway . The whole room was decorated with traditional old things, there was stone on the walls and the best of all…the bed was traditional built on low on the floor by the fireplace….very romantic .
The breakfast contained few things , but they were all delicious local products … 
Overall , the scenery is amazing if you like Pelion !
