Yep, we have now been to Irida 3 times with the last visit end Aug and first week Sept 2019. And we have already booked our return visit for 2020. They have a brand new apartment right next to the pool and have done some additional landscaping to improve the access to the pool and bar. Rooms as ever are the cleanest we have ever come across in Greece. Maria & Manolis are genuinely the nicest hosts you could ask for. Manolis family connections go right back to when Plakias was put onto the map. Ask him for the history book. The pool is lovingly cared for, so much so we never ever get to the beaches. If you want a bar snack for lunch, just ask in the morning and arrange a time. Fancy a drink in the evening at the bar after your meal in Plakias, just ask beforehand if the bar will be available usually from around 10.00PM onwards. Don't keep Manolis up too late !. We always have safe & Aircon at around 120 Euros for 2 weeks. They will cook you an evening meal or breakfasts. Lots of trips are available if like us, you prefer not to drive. See Anso Travel for walks thru 3 gorges, Hippy caves at Matala, coach trips into Chania and Rethymnon by night amonst others. Plakias for us is the perfect balance - not too quiet and not too busy. Loads of tavernas and quite a few bars to sit and watch the world go by. Anso Travel did our airport transfers now that Olympic no longer offer them from Manchester. We love the little walk down into Plakias seafront and back in the evening to help walk off the excess of food and drinks.

And we said we would never go back to the same place !

I have been coming to Plakias for 33 years, I have stayed in these studio apartments on 17 occasions. I have seen the development and growth of the quality and service these studio apartments have made in that time. It is never a dissapointment. The services are excellent in both the room and the added bonus of the bar and pool area. Maria and Manolis take great pride in there property and have created a small oasis where you can be chilled relaxed and entirely do your own thing. Breakfast and meals are avaliable al, day if you wish at a reasonable cost or you can prepare food in your small galley kitchen area in your room.

17th visit

Have just returned from the Irida studios and cannot recommend them enough.

Studios themselves are spacious, exceptionally clean with daily maid service and modern with a new bathroom. Shower works excellent too, not like in some studios I have previously stayed at in Greece where water can be just a trickle. Plenty of hot water too for showering in the evening before going out for dinner. 

Free wi fI in room- good speed and always working 

The pool area is very relaxing with comfortable sun beds and large umbrellas. We never had a problem getting a sun bed either. Pool is clean and water a comfortable temperature. 

Pool bar offers a nice selection of drinks and the owners, Maria and Mani offer to bring the drinks over to your sun beds, which is a nice touch. Had lunch several times at the pool bar and found food to be very good quality and average prices. Was given the owner Maria's homemade mayonnaise, which was delicious and also homemade lemonade, which was also lovely.

Pool area is also nice and quiet with a grassed area behind which is also nice to sit on.

Plakias town centre and beach are is a 10 minute walk on a straight road, very acceptable.

Plakias as a resort had a good selection of reasonably priced restaurants and bars. We particularly liked "the cosy bar". Resort is particularly well suited to couples of all ages.

Air conditioning was in good working order and we used every night.

Balconies were very nice and private with solid wall in between each balcony so not overlooked by other people when out on their balconies. 

We were informed by various locals that Plakias is often windy and found this to be true. The wind ranged from a light breeze most days, which was very nice as the temperature reached over 40c some days, to a moderate wind, which blew towels off sun beds so invest in some pegs.

Overall I would highly recommend these apartments due to:

Hospitality of owners Maira and Manny 
High level of cleanliness and daily maid service
Quality of rooms- new bathroom and excellent shower and air conditioning
Distance from main resort- short walk on straight road
Lovely quiet relaxing pool area with ample sun beds
Quiet location of apartments yet still close to resort.

Excellent studios

We had a two week stay last week of August/1st week September. Apartment was the cleanest we have ever had in Greece. Modern bathroom. You can order breakfast from Maria or Manolis the night before though we had our own. We did eat lunch at the poolside bar which was always cooked to perfection by Maria. Just give a little notice in case they need to get some ingredients. Pool is cleaned daily and there was always room, so much in fact, we never bothered with the beach. Nice walk into Plakias with loads of tavernas and a few bars. Great for walking the evening meal off. We got back to the poolside bar every evening - Manolis opens it around 10PM. Hello to Chris & Geoff and Tracey & Richard if you read this ! Other people have mentioned the wind. We had it for most of the 2 weeks. Great when sunbathing for keeping you cool and keeping the mossies away, as we found out when it dropped the night before we left ! But my wife found it a bit disturbing during the night. Overall though, we were grateful for it. We will definately go back here again.

Fantastic

Clean well maintained and unusually for a Greece every thing worked.
Also short walk to town but away enough to be quite, good pool and the staff were helpfully and friendly.
Recommend these studios to anyone. Seem to be a lot of questions in the review about WiFi and internet availability? If you are one of those sados who have to be ''connected'' all the time, top tip! stay at home.
