The owners are very hospitable, very kind and attentive... when we arrived late in the evening, they prepared us in the room, a delicious snack with fresh fruit and toast It was a support x only 3 g here in this area of the island x go around, Malia a nice village with nightclubs and bustling places Really nice We felt at home! Thank you

Great place run by the best family around nothing is too much and excellent food from the cook with over 40 years of experience. Rooms are clean, only 15min walk to the best beach(potamos) and 5min walk from all the shops and supermarkets. A place to call home away from home.

Yet another year passed with a wonderful summer holiday here at Maliastar. What a wonderful family the hospitality is above expectations. Near the centre and the beach it is the best place to stay. Enjoy the Greek sun food and environment!!!

Mrs. So nice and kind, we thought we would eat typical cuisine instead of a disappointment, hard and tasteless meat, moussaka' with very little meat. I hope they don't lose the culinary traditions by adapting to tourism because the environment was very welcoming and familiar. Unfortunately it was the last days of vacation, the comparison with other restaurants on the island was clear. The most expensive price, in three people a 60ina euro for two moussaka, a plate of meat slices with mushrooms, three beers and water. We ate much better with much less money per head.

Low-quality restaurant

We have stayed at Malia Star Apartments for 5 nights and we have only good words about the accommodation. The apartments are large enough, the sleeping part being separated from the living/kitchen part  gives it a cosy air, the bathroom is small but ok, the balcony is allright, too, all the offered facilities are well kept and working, the cleaning is super. They offer a nice shady parking lot, too. Well, I want to get to the heart of it: the people! Datseris family, who are in charge with the business are the greek generosity embodied! We ate at the restaurant for several times and Mr Dimitri, the Chef of the place made our dinners memorable with greatly cooked greek food and many extra surprises, Mrs Marina, his wife,  made us feel special with her warm-hearted way of treating customers and Nikos, the son, being prompt and ready to help you with no matter what! The place itself is nice and comfortable but the heart of it are these charming and hard-working people who made me feel overwhelmed and sorry I had to leave. They don't offer just an accommodation place and a taverna for some food, but an entirely real Greek experience including great feelings.

We stayed in this building from July 26th to February 08th, cozy rooms, impeccable cleanliness, perfect location a few minutes from the central road but still not immersed in total chaos. The strength of this building is the owners, fantastic people of immense kindness. The cook Dimitri is as good as kind. The menu is always good, nothing frozen. The son Niko and the mother are exquisite people who treated us like brothers. If you are staying in Malia you have to go through this building. They are the best. A hug to the whole Malia family, we love you.

Lovely family run property with charm within easy walking distance to shops, downtown, and the best beach in Malia. True Cretan hospitality and wonderful atmosphere!

Nikos and his family were wonderful and gave us a lovely welcome, despite our slightly late arrival. We came as a group of girls and felt completely comfortable and loved every moment of our stay. We had access to the pool which was super close and the beach was only a short walk, as was the strip. Quite simply the perfect location! We had some amazing food too! One night we all ordered pizza and they were amazing! Nikos helped us to organise a trip to Spinalonga on our third day which was very much appreciated. The rooms and restaurant were spotless and had a lovely traditional vibe. The air con worked well too as did the supplies to cook with. Although we were a group of girls who were going out to the clubs etc this place is also perfect for families- we made sure to be as quiet as possible in the night as it was understood that this lack of disturbance was something Nikos felt passionately about to give to his guests. Having said that we weren't trying too hard to be quiet all of the time - I guess the walls must be very thick! Either way, we had the perfect holiday and we will definitely miss the Malia Star and it's lovely hosts for sure! I recommend them wholeheartedly- with 17 pounds a night we really couldn't go wrong!

such friendly and welcoming owners and staff, beautiful typical Greek restaurant (with incredible greek food!) and apartment rooms and 5-10 to the main strip, beach and pool. best value for money in Malia for sure!
