We ended up staying here twice during our trip in Greece! Before & after or trip over to Zante Island. They staff was very helpful and friendly. The location is right in the middle of EVERYTHING in the town. After we checked out they let us keep our bags in the hotel while we did some walking. We highly recommended staying here! 

GREAT LOCATION! very friendly staff!

I will paint the picture for you, my first time on the island & at the resort. Cost 55 euro in a taxi to get to the resort from the airport (1 way) & I try to check in to be told they have had a mix up with the room, I was going to have to spend a night in a room before moving to my original room which I had booked. Granted the rooms were next door to each other but after much conversing with reception staff I got a reduction of 10 euros for my inconvenience & they agreed to move my belongings into my room for me. I should have received an email which I never got explaining their mistake if I had I would have looked for somewhere else to stay as this inconvenience is not what you want to be greeted with after a long journey.
There was also a debate about how I was going to pay for 2 rooms now which again was not what I wanted to be greeted with after a long journey. I paid some cash & some card in the end. I had to pay a charge of 50 cents per day accommodation tax on top of my original price.
Okay so the hotel was a single room & shared bathroom which I normally stay well clear of but it is common in Greece.
Room basic but clean & for the amount of time I spent in it was adequate, I ended up in room 16 which has a large balcony overlooking the main square & port, it also got the evening sun which was nice.
There was a small fridge, fan no air conditioning which was much needed as it was scorching hot, I did use the fan which drowned out some evening noise but I had to leave the balcony doors open to allow some air into the room. There was a plug in mosquitos vape provided by the hotel but this meant I got bitten by mosquitoes which was the big downside of this holiday.
I was provided with a kettle & because I was on my own I got 1 cup, 1 glass, 1 plate, 1 bowl, 1 large spoon, small spoon & fork. No safety deposit box.
There was a small wardrobe, coffee table & a small table by the bed in the room for clothes & storage which was fine for me on my own. 
The shared bathroom was clean had some soap provided as was the toilet rolls, you also got a hand towel & bath sheet provided by the hotel which were changed when you wanted.
The first room I was in was right next door to the bathroom but it was noisy as you can imagine, the shower did not have a hanger so you had to hold it while showering. I mostly got hot water each time but it is no power shower.
Free fast speed wifi is the major bonus of this hotel, it has a small outside garden area just off reception which you can use, no lifts & no pool.
Surrounded by shops, bars & restaurants but noisy from 8am till late as it is also on the main road through Sami & it was comical to watch the massive lorries, buses etc going to the ferry ports.You know when I go on my own I like to relax in the sun & worship the sun god. There are a few small beaches on the sea front at Sami but all pebble beaches which look nice but are not comfortable to lie on so thankfully there is a big pool area which you can use opposite the sea with comfy sun beds, umbrellas, showers, toilets & you could get food & drink there. 
I had a lovely holiday as I walk a lot & it is a lovely island, I done some trips to other parts of the island & nearby island, Ithika via boat.
This was not the worst place I have stayed in & I felt safe there but due to the poor checking in experience which I felt was not really understood properly by reception staff, I would go elsewhere if I revisited Sami.

Mixed Emotions

I spent two nights in mid October before my sailing trip and enjoyed central location to drive around Kefalonia. I had sea view room looking over the square so it was quieter i can imagine comparing summer times. Anastasia, stuff is wonderful welcoming with smiling face and helpful with questions about exploring around. She helped me find a rental car which it was harder bc of end season. I can stay again.

Great location and clean place 

This basic hotel has very friendly helpful staff and is clean and comfortable. Great views over the harbour or mountains and central to the town, where there are great restaurants and bars. Sami is a great little town.

Excellent Location

We spent a lovely two nights at the Hotel Kyma recently.  The owner greeted us on arrival, he was a very pleasant and informative person.  Our room and bathroom was spotlessly clean and very functional, with immaculate white linen and towels.  We had a small balcony looking out to the mountains, this was very enjoyable early morning and late evening.  This is a family run hotel offering superb hospitality.  We would certainly stay here again and highly recommend it.
