First appearance all seemed good

However because it was the beginning of the season, May, the owner preferred to sleep in rather than have staff or himself rock up and open the doors for both reception but more importantly to serve breakfast. 
They first opened at 9 am for breakfast and then decided that since only my husband and I were at the hotel they would open their doors at 9:30. 
“Thank you but eat it yourself. I didn’t come to Chios to wait for toast and cheese. Because that is basically what they served. We headed on our excursion to a cafe and had breakfast. 
The bathroom is somewhat aged and very small. What made it much worst is when the shower was on, the water from the drain regurgitated into the bathroom floor. And I hated standing in it
The hot water never came because it wasn’t worth their while to turn the electricity on for 2 people. In Greece the sun heats the water but in the colder months electricity boosts this
There were no side lamps by the beds. But next to all the other issues this faded into insignificant
Problem is Chios is not yet geared for tourism 
There isn’t much to choose from

Dear proprietor go on vacation if you don’t want to open your doors for 2,4 or 6 people. Leave hospitality to the profes

Two families stayed.Before We went, I sent an e-mail about closeness of the rooms.They responded by phone and were very helpful.C/I time 15.00, C/O 11.00.If the room is empty, you can check in early.Reseption is closed 23.00.Rooms are clean.One of our room was land view other sea view but it was not sea view  that was side sea view (202).If you want direct sea you should take To confirme.Pool is ok.The hotel is cloose to beachs.The sea is wonderful.Staff are so friendly.If you have rent a car, you can stay there.Also there are 3 of tavarnas and they are traditional and so cloose to the hotel.You can go by walk.

The apartments are spacious, nice, well furbished, but some details would be appreciated. No read bed lamps, no any single cloth to put freshly washed dishes... But the staff is nice and that makes difference.

Clean, but some caring of details would be nice.

This was our 5th visit and as usual we were welcomed like part of the family. The rooms are cleaned daily, spacious and well equipped. There is an underground car park which is a bonus in such a prime location. Opposite the hotel is a beautiful little harbour and next to the harbor is the beach. Within 100 metres of the property there is a choice of 3 restaurant's and the local buses get your into town in about 15 minutes. We are looking forward to going back and meeting George and John the owners again.

Super, Excellent

Very kind team especially Hrystianna, they met us perfect way. The hotel have huge & clean rooms. Very good location. Its on sea side & they have swimming pool. I can go once. Strongly recommended, you will feel wanderfull.

Strongly Recommended, big & clean rooms 

This was our fourth visit to this hotel. The location is excellent. We were surrounded by small restaurants and tavernas. Our room was superb and well equipped. The views from the room faced the small fishing harbour opposite the hotel. We would have liked to use the pool whilst we there but it didn’t open until June.

Nothing was too much trouble

Huge spotless rooms, fast internet, front balcony with a sea view to enjoy our coffee, receptionists who took care of all our needs and baristas that always remembered our orders after the first time (and made a great cup too!). A wonderful little hotel in Chios with the added bonus of having its private parking lot, as this is a big island and you'll definitely need a car to explore.

I know Chios very well....and believe me, there's not that many good properties around. Forget about something remotely hip or luxurious - but that's also part of the charm. Pearl Bay is my go to hotel because it's not pretentious, it's relatively new and modern and the service is authentic. Location-wise it's in the quaint little harbor of Vrondades/Daskalopetra and therefore well located to explore the amazing island that Chios is. If you want value for money, a clean, modern room with all the basic facilities that you need - this is your place!

Great, simple and charming property on Chios

The hotel is new,the rooms are very nice and clean,the pool area is also nice and the staff,well some of the staff too..The manager-owner clearly has no idea on how to run a hotel..On the day of my arrival and while I was checking in(the lady at the reception was very polite and helpful)the owner walks in and he starts talking to the lady about a party they were organising later that afternoon.And I'm standing there,with my luggage,shocked to what was happening. So I had to interrupt them and  ask for the key to my room.Clearly not the lady's fault, after all it's the owner chatting her
