Rouseli Apartments

Just left the Rou Estate with a heavy heart. It’s such a beautiful resort & we really appreciate that it was that all to rare merger of tourism & village preservation/sustainability. Each villa (it was a derelict village until 2005/6) is based on original design but with full 21st century amenities. We stayed in Acanthus which is smaller than many of the others but perfect for a family of 3-4. The on site taverna is fantastic & does not take advantage that it is the only eatery around in terms of its pricing. The entire estate is immaculate, the views breath taking & the villa names apparently reflect the garden flowers across all the seasons. They are designed by the very talented British landscape designer Jenny Gay. We were very well looked after by Gayle & her team who even had the foresight to send staff to the villas to close windows & bring in the washing/towels to avoid everything being soaked in yesterday’s thunderstorm. Now that is service. Simpsons who manage the estate consistently achieve this high quality product & this is why it’s our fourth consecutive Simpsons holiday! The road to the estate is a little hard going but well worth it when you reach this mountain haven of peace & great beauty, away from the crowds. We loved it - thank you to all at Rou, but particularly Gayle, Eleni & Simpsons for containing to reflect the best of Greek hospitality.
