The worst place l ever went to in my life. It was a nightmare... we arrived late...but not that late....the place was pitch black with no lighting at all.. the lady who l eventually  spoke to asked me why  l diddnt use the tourch on my moblie to find our way up 4 flights of stairs to a room we did not book. That was dirty..the lady was shouting at me and also on the phone  saying very nasty things about English tourist in Greek...she did not know l spoke Greek at this point l just let her go on and spit it all out. She was so abusive it was disgusting pointing in my face. Telling me lm a bad person etc etc...before we left l answered her good and proper in Greek... hostile  is the best way l can describe her...my advice is stay away  far away...we went to another hotel  and we had a great time..in a clean place with lovely people....and we will go back to the second place again...plus it was half the price.......enter ireene apartments  at your own risk...we booked  pool side.... l will upload pics if l still have them...you will be amazed at the pool!!

NIGHTMARE OF A PLACE AVOID.

We booked through loveholidays and unfortunately had some issues with them and airlines as we had a medical incident at the airport and weren’t able to fly that morning. We rang up the apartments later that day because we were able to fly that night and they were amazing. very understanding and helpful due to the situation we were in as we thought that everything would be ruined and canceled. couldn’t have asked for better service from them.

we arrived at the hotel around 6AM and were greeted by one of the owners who guided us up to our room. She was very friendly and helpful as well. The cleanliness of the rooms was outstanding and the layout and furniture was great. The beds weren’t the comfiest as the mattress was too hard ( personal preference ) but still had a good sleep every night. The only appliance that could’ve been added was a toaster as we had to fry the bread for breakfast instead which wasn’t the nicest and a plug in fan as the air-conditioning you have to pay for. We were given the apartment with the view of the pool and the whole town - which we were not expecting at all. 

every morning when we woke up the owners were outside cleaning the pool, floor and sun beds , trimming the bushes, making sure everything was spotless. The cleanliness of everything was 10/10. No faults or dirt what so ever. Pool was average size but very refreshing and clean compared to other hotel pools we’ve been in. 

The walk to the beach is about 10-15 minutes away which isn’t too long for the incredible clear ocean you get to see and the view of the mountains. There are also a lot of restaurants on the main street and down by the beach. Around the area there are supermarket, souvenir shops, coach bookings, activity bookings and a lot more. 

Slept with the balcony doors open every night as it felt very safe. However would recommend bringing a lot of mosquito repellent as the bites can be quite bad. Would definitely visit corfu again and stay in irene apartments. everywhere is spotless, staff are super friendly , amazing views , great location and overall one of the best hotels we’ve stayed at.

We have just had the loveliest stat at Irene's appointments. It is immaculate and so well kept. The owners could not be kinder and more helpful and went out of there way to do anything we asked for help with. We had the pool to ourselves most days. The hill not too bad when you get used to it. We hired a moped for the week and we found that this was the best way to get about and see the North of the island and get to and from the appartment. 

Can't wait to go back

What an amazing and relaxed place, close to the beach and amenities. Irene is always working, keeping the apartments and surrounding areas clean and tidy, she was so friendly and amazing.
The rooms were traditionally Greek and exceptionally clean. Will be back, it's perfect for relaxing and not too commercialised. Absolutely amazing.

Amazing place 

Wonderful place to stay, warm, friendly and hardworking family who own and run the apartments, which were spacious, clean and comfortable. A great base to explore the island and could not ask for more. 

The town was lovely too, great choice of restaurants and shops with the apartments in walking distance but just far away enough to enjoy the peace and quiet. Short drive to some fab beaches.

Great place for a family holiday

This is a lovely place to stay in Acharavi very clean but fairly basic. The hill to it is a killer short but steep. This property is probably more suited as a couples quiet holiday place than for families. Owner very pleasant.

Good Clean apartments

Me and my wife both in our early thirties had a wonderful 2x week stay at Irene apartments in August 2018.                         From the moment we arrived we felt welcomed and Irene was a helpful host and her dad was a lovely man who kept the apartment grounds and pool immaculate whilst always smiling and greeting us.
 We had a top floor room 14 which had an absolute amazing view over the Acharavi coastline and we would watch the sunset every night on our balcony with a few cold Mythos and Corfu Beer!!
Room was cleaned every 2x days by the lovely cleaning ladies and the whole complex itself is spotlessly clean. Apartment had everything you need although we ate out most evenings.
The swimming pool and garden was so peaceful and like others have commented depending on the time of day you sometimes have it to your self and it’s never overcrowded.
 The apartments are located up a hill like many have mentioned but it’s only a small section from the century resort complex which is steep and it only is a  slight pain when you arrive carrying your cases from the bottom road but the location is worth the initial sweat fest!
 We would definetely stay here again and recommend to couples and families with older kids as the apartments have no facilities eg snack bar, kids play area or entertainment which many families with young kids would probably require.
 We had a lovely chilled out holiday and loved Acharavi and Irene apartments .

So peaceful and relaxing

Like A lot of self catering Greek apartments basic but adequate. Rooms were clean and spacious. The apartments are on a hill that may be a challenge for those with mobility problems. I had fun racing my children up it daily and we're all fitter for it. We were in room 3 which has wonderful views over the surrounding area and across the the Albanian mountains. I've read other reviews about a "grumpy old man" he's not. He's up early cleaning the pool and attending the gardens daily and I saw up him late water the plants/flowers. He clearly puts in the work to maintain pleasant surroundings if you respect that then he's totally fine. He had my children diving for Euros in the pool. Irene was helpful when needed. The pool is on the smaller side, but the plus side for me was the peace and quiet, on numerous days we had it to ourselves. I've had a peaceful, pleasant week at Irene and would return. 

Basic but adequate 

We stayed at Irene Apartments for a week and what a wonderful week it was! Irene was so lovely and helpful, she waited for us to arrive then helped us find our transfer back to the airport as well. It was a pleasure to stay at the apartments. They were clean and tidy with everything you could need and just a short walk to the shops & beach while being located in a quieter area. Really enjoyed our stay, Spiros was lovely too :) smiles lots & makes an effort to talk to you and make you feel welcome. There is a hill to walk like other reviews said but we're fitter after walking it every day! Thank you Irene & family, we will be back! :-)

Wonderful 

My husband and I stayed at Irenes for a week from 26th June to 3rd July.  Having stayed in numerous apartments in Acharavi over the years (17 years) I can honestly say it is one of the best.  Lovely pool area and gardens that are tended by Irenes father who takes great pride in doing so. Irenes father gave us 4 huge lemons from the trees by the pool which I brought home which were lovely.

 We had a studio (number 10) which had a sea view which was fantastic.  We had couple of towel and bedding changes during our week and the bins were emptied every other day.  One day we came back in and a vase of flowers from the garden were on our table which was a lovely touch. One of the best showers ever in an apartment as well -- both pressure-wise and hot hot water.  

The apartments are up a hill - which we were fully aware of and was not a problem, however perhaps not ideal for older people.

The main part of Acharavi is about a 10 minute walk to shops, bars and restaurants.

We will definitely be back to stay again.
